Sprint customers will surely find themselves at a standstill after the latest rumor suggests that the number three carrier in the country will only be offering the iPhone 4 come this October. So far, we’ve been enthralled and teased by the notion of seeing...

i doubt that if they were really selling just an iphone4, it wouldnt be the current one, but the remade "iphone4s" that was rumored for Tmo and Sprint a few months back. Who knows. No point in getting up and arms one way or the other until an official announcement is made. No "sprint rep" knows anything more than anyone on this site.

This whole thing is bogus...if you were working as a salesman at a sprint store and someone came in who wanted sprint but wanted to wait for the iphone 5 what would they tell them if they wanted to close the deal that day besides no comment??? they would tell them sprint isnt getting the iphone 5 so the customer purchases something else

The iPhone 4 is still a good phone, not everyone wants to buy the latest, most powerful thing out there.

Now if they priced it at $200 on contract, that would be pretty dumb.

I bet this is just a marketing strategy from Apple. They've already had all of their competitors release their "flagship" phones on/or around the perspective dates that were "leaked" for Apple's over the last few months. Maybe they're trying to see what other companies are going to release phones with Sprint to figure out how to market the Iphone 5 better? I feel like this is a lot like "Wag the Dog" just without the war.

yes because they are dying now. sprint is fine without the iphone. all the iphone would've done is allowed a lot more under privileged people to get one.

so.. wait.. you have been touting the iphone4 as the savior of the cell word for quite a while.. so why then if sprint only gets an unaltered iphone4, will it sink them? Is it THAT BAD of a phone that its going to kill a network!?! lol. Theyve survived with no iphones for 4 iterations now. Somehow i think they will be ok.. lol

Sprint has been losing money for a while now and they lose customers every quarter. If they don't get the iPhone 5 they will lose even more customers. Plus AT&T and VZW are competing with them in price now with their prepaid plans. Sprint could be done real soon. The iPhone 5 would be a savior for them.

I would think that a lot of people that wanted the iphone would have left sprint and gone to AT&T or verizon. Still no doubt it would get them more customers. But Sprint is starting to do better.

Those prepaid plans you speak of offered by AT&T and Verizon only allow certain feature phones to be used with those plans. I guess if you're someone who doesn't mind not having the latest and greatest Android offering or one of the iPhones then that is a decent plan. Although both Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile offer better plans and phones. For the record you are like the 150,001 person to say that Sprint is all but dead and yet they keep coming back for more. Maybe you guys will be right one of these times.

Sprint actually gains customers, Nextel keeps losing them...eventually Nextel will shrivel and die, hopefully sooner rather than later. The CDMA-based push-to-talk that's meant to entice Nextel business customers to move to Sprint is about a full year late...

...by the way, if the iPhone 5 is rumored to be receiving the iPad2 proc, will it have the same GPU or just a variant? I'd never realized it until yesterday when I was reading the SGS2 review on Anandtech that the iPad GPU was roughly twice as powerful as the new Mali-400 in the SGS2. While its overkill for a smartphone, what are the odds of something even remotely close to the tablet GPU showing up in the new iDevice? My guess is Apple could get some serious mileage out of a GPU with nearly 10GB/s of memory bandwidth

Not really considering the iPhone 5 is better than 99% of the Crapdroid phones on the market.

Seriously, most of the Android phones are like poop thrown out to customers like chimpanzees.

Swing and a miss. Keep trying though, I have a feeling that one of your posts are eventually going to be funny or witty. Not yet, but hang in there.

I think that this is due to the unstability of the LTE network coming to Sprint. It looks as if Apple is building the iPhone 5 around LTE and they already committed to Sprint. No LTE=No iPhone 5. So the next logical step would be to build an iPhone 4s with WIMAX capabilites.

This story is garbage. They will be getting the iP5. Again this article is written to give Apple more momentum towards their launch date and bigger anticipation and speculation for more carriers rather than AT&T and Verizon getting their exclusive deal. They will also announce that they will have Flash available for all iOS devices.

My belief is that the iP5 will be launched on Sprint, Verizon, and AT&T, while the iP4 will become priced at $99 on all carriers as well as their entry level phone. T-Mobile could be the odd one out, but they may get the iP5 as well.

Why would Sprint want to carry a year and half old phone? Doesn't make sense.
