Sprint launches text to landline messaging service
Sprint Nextel announced the availability of a new service for its subscribers that allows them to send text messages to any landline phone within the United States. This service, called Text to Landline can be used by any of the Sprint's customers who own two-way text-messaging-capable phones. It doesn't require any special subscription or whatsoever. All, the customers need to do, is send a regular text message to a 10-digit landline phone number. The recipient's phone rings and when answered the message is automatically read as a voice message. Then the recipient can reply with either a preset text message or record a voice message. The cost of this type of messages is the same as that of the regular ones.
