If tipsters are to be believed, three new devices are going to be introduced by Sprint's CEO, Dan Hesse, at CTIA…

Boy it really seems like Sprint wants to really push this crappy 3D craze that will die in a couple years. Must suck being a sprint customer.

I think glasses free 3D is awesome. Plus, if it's anything like the LG optimus 3D, it will have a shitload of RAM and a super high quadrant score. I would enjoy shooting 3D pics of my eating sheeple who try to cross over my bridge. If this has similar or better specs than the LG Optimus 3D, then I will replace my evo with it. Plus htc makes the best Android phones. Moto builds nice ones too but they like to lock out custom roms which is a major no no.

I agree the good thing about it is it will have some awesome specs and really hope you have the option of shutting the 3D off. HTC makes kick ass phones. I have a Motorola DROID and will never buy motorola again.

lol, the best part of the 3d phone craze.. the huge boost in ram and processing power. even if you never used the 3d part of it, the phones are a beast.

is there going to b a way to turn off the 3d so i can just have a phone being a beast as opposed to wasting my battery and ram on a gimmick?

if so 3d here i come....

i would assume so. If there isnt, there will probably be a "3d free" ROM out shortly after its rooted.

Sounds like Dan Hesse is smarter than you think. I doubt that a man with his education and expertise in the wireless field would sell a product that wasn't desired. It may be a craze, but if it sells products and opens new lines of service then its a smart move. Considering that 3D video playback is quite popular with TVs now, and adding that the largest consumer of data is video streaming on wireless networks, then having 3D is genius. It doesn't matter if its short lived. Stock is up, new investors are on the horizon, and service has never been better. Keep it coming Mr. Hesse.

How do you figure that Sprint is pushing a 3D craze? What phone have they announced that is 3D? There was the thingy with 2 screens, but I don't recall it being 3D capable. If the rumors are true about a 3D EVO, the specs will out of necessity be awesome. I might even move to Sprint since my Droid X is on a 1 year contract that is up in July.

sprint is hoping one of their gimmicks catch on. hopefully the nexus s will not come with a built in keyboard as i might be interested in upgrading my evo.

If it's a 3d phone it's going to have some amazing specs, plus the specs from the original Evo were pretty bad ass too, so it's not like Htc is going to downgrade those, so im looking forward to a few bump ups of course. But I don't really need 3d so i'm going to turn that off and enjoy a new Htc super phone (: . ( if the rumors are true that is)

More rumors...remember the rumors flying around when Sprint pulled a fast one a released the Kyocera Echo? Let's just hope they don't repeat that same thing. For what it's worth, if the Echo was released by any other manufacturer except Kyocera, it would most likely get instant credibility. However, it's likely DOA. All that "special hinge" research for nothing. Anyway, a Nexus S sounds pretty good because you get the Google Experience and timely updates. I don't care about 3D (I'll turn it off). I wish people will stop posting video of 3D phones because you can't see it. Good grief.

I don't really care what the announce because as of, or around, April 4 I'll be getting either the Evo or the Evo Shift. Only way I'll be interested in one of the above devices is if they are to launch within the week or two of April.

Good things come to those who wait...upgrades come but once every two years (one if you are premiere gold) so I wouldn't waste it if I were you.

I switched from T-mobile to Sprint in 09 and was placed in a Gold membership now I was lowered to the silver because by Sprint's standards I didn't have more then 10 years with the company. It actually felt great knowing I was able to upgrade every year to a new phone plus all the benefits and discounts now they low balled me & I hate the fact that I'd have to wait two years for an upgrade.

I"v been able to upgrade since January 2011,but chose not to because even though the Evo is a good phone I wanted something better. I mean If I did buy the Evo and in two months something better came out I would of kicked my self for not waiting, so!!! here I am and as of March 22 If I don't receive any explosive news about these "rumored" phones coming out. I'm gonna rather buy the Evo or just leave Sprint all together and just switch carrier Sprints been really good to me but I can't wait half a year for a stupid phone when other carriers are receiving dual core goodness left and right. I know I might get negative feedback because of this but let's be honest I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I think you are smart. I would wait too. The evo is too outdated to buy now and waste an upgrade on. I like mine, but I am definitely ready to get into something with a better graphics processor. Here's to hoping that good things come to those who wait :)

Nothings stopping you from buying the phone at retail.

true but it kinda defeats the whole purpose of saving money on a new phone cause if I do buy the Evo at full retail it's like $450 I personally wouldn't care about prolonging my contract one more year if it meant buying a better phone cheaper

I'd wait pal. A Sprint sales executive told me that the next Evo to come out is a dual core. And I have the dual core Atrix as well as an EVO, and I'll tell you, IT AIN'T THAT GREAT! It may be good for certain things when gaming, but its no faster than the EVO or the Inspire that a friend of mine has. Remember can be a lightspeed gigahertz processor but the speed and congestion of the network make a huge difference. Dual core is like bringing a gattling gun to a knife fight. Its pure overkill given what the networks are capable of. Stay with Sprint. They've got some big moves coming this year that'll be, well, you'll see. Project Leapfrog. Google it. Good luck

If they release a phone with June 2010 Specs I will be let down. People want dual core, they want the newest version on android, they want 1.5GHZ they want WIMAX and a good camera!! C'mon Sprint as a retailer for you I want to sell the crap out of some good phones! Not the Echo... Well I'll sell the Echo if people want it. Come to think of it just release a good phone that I can buy and I'll be happy!
