No doubt. Maybe a real quick reassurence that your customer base won't get left behind in the pending move to LTE would be nice, as well. Get on it Dan!

I am just wondering what it could be that would actually be innovative. I feel like a 3D phone would be just as gimmicky as 3D movies. A vast majority of them suck, but there are a few that are worth it. And switching to LTE wouldn't be innovative at all. So what else could it possibly be that would be worth the press conference?

With you on the 3D thing. Sprint needs a solid, high end offering to it's customers. 3D is just a headline catcher, and being first Company in U.S. to get one will look nice in a press release but that's about it.(Really, how do you live up to the "high" expectations of quality like "Piranna 3D" on a phone?)

I think it might be the WP7 that we have been hearing about...the HTC Arrive...personally i think that the WP7 OS is fairly good and im hoping to get a WP7 phone once they hit verizon...but right now i have the droid incredible and dont want to downgrade to the lower specs of the arrive/trophy...

Very clever because the picture looks all 1920s and with the capital G at the end alluding the speed! HAHAHAHA! I like you. You can cross under my bridge any time! (Unless you have an iphone).

Arrive comes out on the 20th...so that's not it. Maybe iPhone5, or some kind of dual processor phone that is both wimax and lte capable... Or not *Kanye shrug*

Where does it say in the invitation that "Dan Hesse, will be showing off Sprint's latest and greatest new device at the event"? Maybe it;s not a new smart phone. Maybe it's some other kind of "innovation." What other kind of innovative technology has Sprint been working on?

Just for info sake: Another site had the actually invite listed- it is a 3 1/2 hour event with the phrase "veiw our latest innovations" with an "s", so there will be more then one device shown. The Blackberry playbook has been mentioned as well as romuors of an EvO 2.

Its going to be the 3D phone I bet. Sprint shot themselves in the foot during the last conference and they need to bring something out that we'll like!

I personally don't care anymore Sprint's phone selection sucks balls and at this rate unless Dan has a new Evo or a phone even better then the Evo I'm not upgrading till Sprint does. Ill live with my crappy Hero till then

I guess JD Power/CNET/pcmag etc. ranking the EVO as the #1 smartphone and having the Shift and Epic being ranked as 10/10's and just as good as the EVO are "crappy" phones? lol

34. Socalvenom unregistered

dude the phones are good but come on Sprint needs to keep up with the times everyone else is enjoying dual core goodness why can't we besides The Evo as good as a phone as it is it's old news, or are you doing to deny the facts? Even T-mobile has us beat when it comes to phone selection.

There is no use for a dual core phone right now. The apps have to be written to enjoy that feature. Until many apps (there are very few right now) are written that way, who cares? Sprint launched the evo after it had 4g. Why launch something before the real tech catches up to it?

I hate to agree... but I still have my hero and I'm just waiting patiently althou annoyed for something... more.... personaly i would love to see the Xperia Play come to sprint.. I love on screen keyboards.. but hate onscreen controls for gaming this would be great.. especially if it does good on multimedia and gaming... I just wish we could just buy any phone and then assign it to a provider -_-

Sprint's announcements lately are reminding me of a seagull that you would see on the Discovery Channel... squawking and flapping its wings, splashing water everywhere... and then it goes under and all you see next is a shark fin.

My theory is that it will be a new flagship phone (s) with dual-core processors that is CDMA, BUT will be upgradable to LTE or Wimax via a software update, depending on the path they ultimately decide to take.

I don't think they're going to release any new phones with Wimax on them until they have made the final decision. We'll see how it goes, but it should be interesting.
