Most of the phones are made in China nowadays, even Apple phones. BTW, the Note 7 exploding batteries weren't due to the Chinese procured batteries, but those made in Korea... No need to be against the Chinese stuff, it's way better than before.

As long as they fix the few issues that the original Mi 5 had (1080p video, audio recording) and deliver on these specs, this phone will be mine. End of story. I hope this is the phone Xiaomi choses to enter into the US market with. Please!

I have owned several xiaomi phones and they are amazing performers. Their MIUI OS is also good. But there is only major problem with xiaomi devices. They are terribly slow in upgrading the android version. Other Chinese brands like 1+3 is much fast in providing new android updates. Even samsung provides faster updates. If xiaomi improve on providing android updates, they will gain much wider market share.

Judging by its history, people will wait 256GB model for a long long time. Mi5s must have a flagship worthy camera and durable body at least, unlike its predecessor.

Looks like a great phone, arguably up there with the very best... Shame it's not available/usable in the UK or I'd probably get it.

Kinda funny, Apple love to sue Samsung, but everyone knows Xiaomi copies theirs products, designs and even models name schedule now, 5S! Apple scare for China?
