Sony to pull out all stops with the Z4, tipster claims: 5.5" QHD, Snapdragon 810, amped speakers and new camera

We have barely gotten accustomed to the excellent Xperia Z3 that Sony churned out this holiday season, and there are already rumors emerging about the Xperia Z4. Exhale a sigh of relief, though, as the pesky six-month upgrade cycle might be gone for good with the Z4, as Sony is apparently planning to pull out all stops with its next flagship...

No one is going to buy the Z3 after reading this article. I hope Sony changes the design of the phone. The flat rectangle look is getting old. I would like to see a curved Xperia like on the Moto X.

As long as they are able to keep the phone from over heating with 4GB of RAM and SD 810..that will be great...

do you guys sick of spec? it's just a repeat of upgrade of the same techology, and it's not cool anymore after 6 month:)

5.5'' is very big. they should keep the 5.2'', it is big enough in a regular high-end smartphone, compare to 5.5''. QHD is not a big deal, 1080p is okay for superb battery life than QHD with poor battery life. hope they will improve the camera, add xenon flash, and improve the UI as well. No need to mention about the bezels :) But anyway it is a good news!

Whenever im finally decided to buy phone there comes a new rumor, the feeling of excitement suddenly turns to withdrawn. I never reached the climax, putting me in endless loop of waiting for the next iteration from sony. If this is true, this is tempting but im eager to wait for another 6 months.

I want the Z2X with the 2/3 sensor camera and 6.2 inch screen. I hope it also has all these other features. If somehow the Z3X does not happen then this may be the trade up from my Z Ultra. I will miss the 6.4 inch screen though. That screen is like carrying a mini movie screen in your pocket (or holster).

Saving for this beast to replace my Z.

Hell to the yes. I'm not married to any hardware maker. I'd buy this phone, though I'd prefer it to be a six incher, or even 6.5. Still, I hope everyone realizes how awesome the hardware wars are, because Sony, LG and Samsung - and those Chinese behemoths and some other companies I'm forgetting because I just woke up (but f apl) - are truly giving us a ton of excellent choices.

I hate the fact that flagships are getting bigger and bigger. In my opinion the size of the nexus 5 with 5" display is the perfect size.

This will be worth $649. The Nexus 6, is not.

The previously 'leaked' Z3X specs didn't look too bad, neither does this. Just hope their UI and cameras are improved, maybe then will I try picking up a Sony.

It would be smart of Sony to release a Z4 Compact with 5" screen and little bezel.

SONY will be SONY, the best. But 1 year upgrade cycle is better. By introducing extremely super powerful Z4, SONY will be back to the driver's seat

Back in the driver's seat. Ha. That's funny. That would imply that they were in the driver's seat at some point when it comes to smartphones.

I don't need QHD, but it looks like Z4 will set a new standard. Sony is finally coming back to the top

No Sony keep the display, upgrade the processor(the absolute latest, specifically Gpu), speakers, storage(128gb would be appreciated, wont need micro sd slot and 1 less port cover to deal with), camera(mostly better processing and OIS) and maybe design( make it smaller), we don't need 2k displays, id rather have 1080 that runs games at 60fps and I'm a happy man, leave 2k for 10 inch tablet
