The other day, we showed you some pictures that reportedly revealed the Sony Xperia Z3 and Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. With Sony popping out updated versions of its flagship phone twice a year, the manufacturer started a new trend of "Compact" versions of these handsets beginning with the Sony Xperia Z1 Compact. Unlike the "mini" variants of flagship smartphones, where the specs are taken down a notch or two...

Sony has lost it. Their roadmap sucks. Production delays, 6-month flagship cycles, buggy softwares. The Z2 sounded awesome(just like Z1) on paper, but they dropped the ball for me.

Yeah, they certainly lost it, because somebody in PA comment section think they lost it. Their roadmap is perfectly fine, and makes much more sense, than many other roadmaps out there. At least they are not flooding the market with dozens of exactly-the-same phones like some other manufacturers. Of all the curent Android OEMs, Sony has gone the longest way from their Android beginnings and Xperia X10. Yes, there were many missteps and problems along the way, but today they are stronger than ever. By the way, the Z2 sounded awesome on paper, and is even more awesome in real.

It makes sense for me as consumer. I don't have to always buy the newest phone, I just want to have model which suits my preferences and i.e. I wanted to buy Z2, but I know that after 6 months it will be a lot cheaper than now. So I can wait, this phone will still be awesome.

More of the same? Well not like I was expecting a lot, but these devices have almost the same specs from the Z1, and probably the same getting old design (although attractive) from 2012... sigh...

The Z1 compact still beats every other minis including the 2014 S5 mini and oh!, dont talk about design please. Even if its the same design, its still miles ahead of your plastic company.

I prefer the Z sharp corners than the Z2s smooth edgy angle.

Z was released in 2013 not 2012.
