Sony Xperia XZ, X Performance receive new update, here's what's new

A new OTA update is rolling out to the Sony Xperia XZ and X Performance. After installation, the patch should bump the software version of the two models to 41.2.A.7.65, as they both feature the same Snapdragon 820 chipset.

The new firmware brings the September batch of fixes for security vulnerabilities found on the Android platform. We have to commend Sony for pushing out the update in a timely manner, as currently only Nexus, Pixel, and some Nokia devices have it installed.

The update is available OTA, but only to a few select regions. A wider release is expected to come in the next few days. As always, make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding with the patch.
