Some Apple iPhone 5s units have problems with battery life and will be replaced

0. phoneArena posted on 29 Oct 2013, 22:53

If it feels like your new Apple iPhone 5s isn't providing you with the kind of battery life you were expecting, you might not be as paranoid as your friends tell you that you are; according to no less an August publication like the New York Times, some units of the full-featured iPhone have been affected by a "recently discovered" manufacturing issue that decreases the battery life on the handset, or makes it longer for the cell to recharge...

I feel you. My S3 only lasts three hours now (battery has gone through over 900 cycles) and can't stand it anymore.

My GS3 has 4-4.5 hours of screen time or 2-3 hours + 16-22 hours in standby. Courtesy of Slimbean 4.3.1 build 2.

I also have lots of widgets and don't bother turning off wifi or gps.

Welcome to Apple's update cycle. They have determined your mom is due for a hardware upgrade whether you like it or not. Please go to the nearest Apple store, pay a premium for a futureproof phone guaranteed to be outdated and due for an upgrade in two years (or if they get serious, by the next iOS update).

My work 5s takes a lot longer to charge than my iphone 5 did but it still charges a lot faster than the HTC One or other Android handsets did. Which makes sense since it has a tiny battery.

Let's say it's 9999 iphone 5s' with bad batteries. I believe they sold 4 million handsets (which I believe is lower than reality based on sales reports) when released. If you do the math, that's .2% of all iPhone 5s' have the issue. Only absolute fools are being legitimate for lambasting Apple for this. Manufacturing flaws happen especially on the production scale that are smart phones.
