Snapchat's Spectacles receive update that allows users to share videos and pictures in new formats

Back in April, Snapchat parent SNAP unveiled the sequel to its Spectacles sunglasses. The glasses feature a camera that can record HD video for as long as 30 seconds, and take still shots. Spectacles are available for $149.99 and are offered in Onyx, Sapphire and Ruby. The glasses are perfect for the summer since they protect your eyes while allowing you to capture those lazy care-free days before you have to return to school or the office. And Spectacles are water resistant so you can wear them while swimming in the shallow end of the pool.

Today, an update was pushed out to Spectacles that allows you to share your videos and pictures in other formats besides a round circle with a white background. New options include a circle inside a black background, a square and a widescreen setting. When in Memories, tap on Spectacles Story so you can select the format you want to export the pictures or videos in.

Keep in mind that if you post these images to Snapchat, they will appear in full-screen if you rotate your phone to landscape. On other platforms that you post them on, the pictures and videos you share from your Spectacles will appear in the format you choose, no matter the orientation of the phone you view them on.
