Sn0wbreeze will jailbreak iOS 4.2 on your iPhone 3GS...
Not long after iOS 4.2 was jailbroken using PwnageTool for a Mac, a developer has shown the ability to jailbreak the same software on an Apple iPhone 3GS using a Windows PC with the tool Sn0wbreeze.

This is good news for those who have yet to upgrade their hardware and would like to upgrade their software while keeping the Cydia app store on board. As of now, the Cydia app store (amongst others) does not work properly on this particular jailbreak.

Of course, there is still a decent amount of time before iOS 4.2 is released to the general public as it was just given to developers. By the time this iteration of the popular iOS is released, there could be some changes made that prevent the Sn0wbreeze jailbreak. If the jailbreak remains intact the Cydia app store should be functional by that time.

Are any of you reluctant to update your software because your current software is jailbroken? Does knowing that there is a legit jailbreak being fine-tuned for iOS 4.2 make updating your iPhone 3GS an easier decision?

Hopefully the iPhone 4 will get its share of jailbreaking on iOS 4.2, but it may be slightly more difficult giving it is a newer bootrom device. Check out the video below which shows jailbreaking iOS 4.1, which should lay the grounds for a functional and successful 4.2 jailbreak. Tell us what you think.
