See the Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android L in this 8 minute-long preview

The folks at SamMobile just landed a sweet exclusive -- a chance to play around with a test build (LRW58J) of Android L for the Samsung Galaxy S5. Before we get into the specifics, let's get one (rather important) thing out of the way -- according to SamMobile's source, Android L is indeed slated for a re-branding to Android Lollipop. In other words, if this turns out to be true, then the majority of you will have been spot on in one of our latest polls...

I really like what i see. There are some stutters and hiccups, but this is a very early build. Even Google's own official stock android L hasn't been official released. Love the animations so far (Specially the drop down notification, idk why), and things like the gallery app or contacts tab, no longer have that odd delay. This is really looking good so far. It is also leads me to believe that the Galaxy S5, Note 4, and last year Samsung flagships, might actually get this pretty soon after the official release of Android L. Because of it's already pretty much been integrated with Touchwiz, and there is'nt much else to fix other than the few bugs that i saw

Looks great. I'll switch next year with the Note 4/5 after using my 6 Plus.

Otterbox broski.

Lmao Otterbox is a pile of *. All my rubber ports fell off within a matter of months using one. Terrible and the price is ridiculous.

That's funny because all my Otterboxes since 2012 have never done that.

I have used my Otterbox on my phone for over a year now, it has been dropped so many times, it has been through hell and back. The entire case still looks new and is very functional. Most importantly, my phone on every inch of it is scratchless, dentless, and the screen is still in perfect shape. So I think for 40-50 bucks, the price is worth it.

There's no waterproof Otterbox. You're thinking of Lifeproof cases. Those are ~$80 before taxes. Depending on my discount, I might get the Commuter or Defender. The cheapest being $30 after taxes (50% off accessories). :)

Ever heard of the Otterbox Preserver?

Samsung needs to update their icons.

18. PapaSmurf

Posts: 10457; Member since: May 14, 2012

You should be telling Sony that because their icons have remained the exact same since 2012 and we're almost at 2015.

They both need an upgrade.

The same way you bring Samsung and Apple in almost all articles? Typical Poop..

Same way really? You have 8k+ posts and I have 700+ posts it's not even closer, let's say 50% of my posts I mentioned Samsung, and 30% you mentioned Sony, now who's the troll you or me?

Where so you get the 30% number from? Lmfao goodbye. Waste of bandwidth you are.

How's your vacation from PA? Do you need another one ?

Your sentence is incorrect. Replace how's (how is) with how was (past tense) and it would be grammatically correct. It was great actually. I accomplished a lot on my papers and the readings that I had to do. :) And are you threatening me? Lmfao okay. Good luck with that. You make it seem like this is all I do as if I have no job or money to do things. The joke is on you.

I'm fairly new to these forums, but you do come across as being a bit of a troll.....

Here I'll break it down for you: 1) PunyPoop trolls Samsung like there's no tomorrow 2) hboy857 defends Sony with his life Me? I'm an all around guy, but have a priority interest for Samsung and Apple before other OEMs. And tbh, I could care less on what people think. This is the internet. Everything here doesn't affect me in any shape or form.

You can fill in yourself too Smurf. 1: You always troll Sony even when it's not the topic 2: You defend Samsung with your life

they should add a nightmode where the background turns black and the brightness is dimmer than the default setting

31. Rager722 unregistered

Download Lux Lite Dash in the play store. Its a lux app to decrease brightness to subzero and there is a night mode to make it easy on the eyes while using in the dark. I use it on my Mac book pro as well.
