Samsung's Galaxy Surfboard comes with S7 compartment and cool LED lights

While Apple is mulling the right approach to its car development program, Samsung has already mastered the future of transportation, it seems. The company has released a rather funky and smart... Galaxy Surfboard, of all things it could have invented.

Samsung built the board as a proof of concept for pro surfer Gabriel Medina, and it equipped it with the obligatory phone compartment. Yep, the Galaxy Surfboard has a drawer to put a Galaxy S7 in as the brain of the undertaking, and also LED lights that display useful surfing info like wind direction and wave info, as well as push tips from his coach to keep the surfer in check while alone in the high seas.

Pretty cool, but don't get your hopes up for grabbing one from the local surf shop, as this Galaxy board seems to be an exclusive one-timer for Gabriel Medina only.

I love to surf ! Medina is a national hero here, and Samsung is a top smartphone leader. But yes who will buy it ??? Is just a tech exhibition. Is better a smartwatch waterproof connected.

I think it has some value as a training aid between a coach observing and the surfer in the water but that's about it outside of the surf/weather information

Why talk about Apple's car program in a surfboard article? It's not like you guys are talking about Samsung's cars to begin (and yes they do build cars)

Pretty ingenious. It absolutely makes sense to have a surfboard like this, esp giving you info on the changing surf and wind info, and useful if you have a coach or a spotter telling you which wave to hit. Although it probably won't be allowed in a competition, it would be a great training aid.
