Samsung to announce a 8GB HDD cell phone – SGH-i310

Samsung unveiled its plans to demonstrate its SGH-i310 smartphone, equipped with 8GB hard-disk drive, at the coming annual CeBIT show in Hanover, Germany. Like its predecessor SGH-i300, which supports 3GB HDD, SGH-i310 is a tri-band GSM phone, based on Windows Mobile for Pocket PC OS, but it upgrades the operating system to Windows Mobile 5.0. It also upgrades the camera from 1.3 to 2.0 mega pixels. The main features of the Samsung SGH-i310 are:

  • 2-inch QVGA 65k color display
  • 2.0 mega pixels camera
  • Bluetooth
  • GPRS/EDGE high-speed data
  • microSD memory expansion slot
  • Music player (MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA, WAV and Ogg support)
  • Digital amplifier
  • Dual speakers

Samsung SGH-i310 is expected to hit the market in the second half of 2006, but there's still no pricing information.
