If the issue were sealed-in batteries, we would have been hearing about iPhones going up in flames for nearly a decade now.

No it's not the direct cause of the issue but it would be much easier to fight exploding batteries if you could just swap it

Because we never saw stories about Samsung phones exploding due to unauthorized replacement batteries, right?

But replaceable batteries I don't think would have helped in this case. It can't be the batteries like Samsung thought since putting new batteries didn't fix the problem.

Such a shame, sucks if you're a Note 7 user or Samsung shareholder. There will surely be a huge investigation at Samsung to find out the cause of this and who ultimately is responsible. This is a huge setback.

Samsung should just release a "refreshed" note 4 model. I think most will agree, it was, and still is one of the best phones ever released. Just upgrade the guts and call it a day. I'll take 2 please!

Note 7 was good but best meh!.. How come you proclaim a walking grenade as the best phone... Check the dictionary for the real meaning of best.. Just having a splendid camera and nice design doesn't make it best.. Samsung should have given more priority to user safety.. This may have happened because of more stress on battery.. They shouldn't have given such stress... Moreover this, all this note 7 apocalypse, is not a fight between Samfanboys and other fanboys.. Please, you act as if Samsung appointed you to speak on their behalf.. Your hilarious come backs and excuses for the Note 7 makes this incident more bizarre

They can throw the Note 7s in my yard though. I'll gladly take them!

They could just put some new internals in the Note5 and call it Note6 or Note5s. Also, next year should be the Galaxy Note S to separate it from the Note7. Note line has been great, but the product image has really been hurt. People always ask if my Note5 will explode.

Oh, come on now... of course there will be. And the exploding Samsung Note phone will be brought up millions of times in the future like the iPhone "bend gate" on the iPhone 6+ and "power button" problems (iPhone 4 or 5?? Help me, can't recall which one) are still brought up. Flame wars keep sites like Phone Arena in the black. Gotta have 'em.

How convenient all this happens right when google is introducing the google pixel, and apple has the iphone 7 and 7s, coincidence ? Sabotage? Conspiracy? Wreck samsungs reputation for the glory of america, same as they did to Toyota a couple of years ago and volkswagen not so long ago...

You know, the iPhone is water resistant but it has a vent at the bottom. I wonder if this is something that this phone is missing?
