great and keep going.if samsung would have provided premium design like nokia, apple, sony, htc the sold figure would have been doubled.anyways, dont take wrong decisions like nokia and also have options for survival, otherwise you will also be dethroned from top position as nokia got.listen to the consumers what they like and what they want.atlast people are going to judge and place ur postion in the market.

agreed, they need to use more premium feel materials and also improve their build quality

Materials is debatable, but build quality? I've never seen a Galaxy device coming apart.

their build quality is amazing, regardless of how you feel about plastic. And honestly, a Note made out of metal would be so heavy in your pocket, no one would want it. Stick a brick in your pocket and walk around. tell me how it feels.. lol.

I dropped my Galaxy S II on the floor many times with out a case and noting happened. Fantastic quality for plastic.

Polycarbonate is actually a "premium" material but they could've come with a better design than the hyperglaze glossy feel. I like the white GSIII though but I'd rather wait for the GNII.

Their build quality is actually great
It feels solid with no chassis flex or creaks

Magnesium frame under the plastic shell (well polycarbonate if you want to be specific)

Magnesium frame, really? Where did you get this info? I thought magnesium was used for high-end car wheels and engine blocks.

Wow man, I really didn't know this; do you have source to this?

You are kinda right about the build quality but with the amount of units sold and money made is it worth it to them yet. Everything except the outer casing is the best. But the outer casing does make it lighter and with molded high end plastics it's easier to make adjustments in the design at the last minutes. Who am I kidding I want an aluminum one or carbon fiber. It would be cool if some one witty the cnc machin and know how to attempt to take apart a galaxy s 3 and recreat each part out of aluminum or somthing and put it back together without messing with antana problems. Maybe just some of the parts not all. Or better yet how about a gs3 made out of rare wood in different ways. Or fiberglass. I don't know I bet if sombody really wanted to they could come up with there own gs3 with all sammysung hardware in a custome case that freaking kicked ass. I hope that's the future of somsorts. Make blank cases like a desktop and classifying them like atx or what ever and being able to put any simular motherboard into its chassis and walla it works just the same. Well except well I just added a bigger ram chip. Dreaming I am

Just wait to see how fast GSIII will reach this record!
As I think GSIII and Note 2 will double this record this year ;)

At first I taught that the note sold more units than the s2 but I guess I was wrong because when I go out, I see more people holding a note than a s2. Anyway, I think it also varies from your location

Its maybe because note gets more easily noticed than s2 due to itshuge size

Samsung is truly having an amazing prospects in foreseeable future.
SGS3 alone should sell 50 million units at least, and the Note 2 will be EPIC.
I just can't see Apple winning this battle

Excellent results there by Samsung, they deserve them.
Thoroughly enjoying my GALAXY S II ,makes me wish i had bought a GALAXY S over the Xperia X10 back in 2010. Their phones strike a great balance of very high functionality, seriously powerful hardaware, great speed, slim and lite build, and powerful software all in a great to hold package.

They seem to also be the only manufacturer other than Apple, who understand the importance of a great GPU in a smartphone, this is something Nokia dropped the ball on after the great N95, E90 and N82.

Will be great to see how the GALAXY S III does. :)

to see the big picture, samsung has not only become a titan in the mobile world, but also in a way a "top consumer friendly" company.... they have hugely successful flagship devices like the other giants, but also build affordable feature or smart phones that really sell well within the mass segment... that is a tough act to follow...

Originally passed over the Note during Superbowl but I started to get the itch for a new smartphone back in March as my Droid X had been acting weird ever since gingerbread was updated and getting pretty slow. Remember the note commecial and seeing them online, and decided to actually try one in AT&T store, and I was utterly hooked. I researched it religously *like I do being OCD* and I just had to have one but all the research indicated that Verizon was giving everyone the finger and not getting the Note anytime soon, or ever.

Weighing my options, I wanted a Note so badly, that I dropped my contract with Verizon, paid termination fee and gave up my unlimited plan which I hardly even used as I was mostly on Wifi 90% of the time.

Got my sexy white Note from Costco for $250 *now $200* with waived activation fee, usb/wall charger, screen protector and a nice case. I freaking adore this damn phone. I'm using it constantly to surf the web, playing with S-pen on pictures and posting them to face book. The camera is night and day difference between my Droid X and the video is awesome. Hell in some ways, its better then my Canon Point and shoot 300HS.

Haters can hate all I want, the 5.3'' is beautiful, despite being pentile. You have to anal and or looking at the screen 1'' from your eye to freaking notice it. I'm medium sized guy and I have no issues with my semi small hands handlign the phone one handed. I also do wear emo/goth tight ass jeans, I wear REGULAR sized pants so my phone slips into my pocket with no issues and most of my shirt pockets. So I dunno wtf the haters and complainers issues are, nor do I care, this phone is a mobile power house to point of who needs a laptop or even a tablet for basic usage?

I've been reading self help books while streaming jazz music and playing some sweet games like GTA 3 and Riptide GT which look awesome on its gorgeous screen. The S-pen screenshot function is really nifty and I can't wait to get ICS WHENEVER AT&T gives it to us.

In short, this is likely the best smartphone i'll ever own. Until Note 2 comes out that is. Galaxy S III what?

Apple sold 66 million iphones worldwide in the last 6 months. Just saying. You notice Samsung gives out the sales numbers now. You think the iphone selling 66 million phones in 6 months have something to do with that. Can't thing of anything more to say except the iphone sold 66 millions phone worldwide in the past 6 months. 66 million iphones in 6 months.

The sale numbers are just of the Flagship phones Samsung is the top priority when it comes to mid and entry level, would they have included those results also then i am sure they would have surpassed the numers of Apple, Apple has only one phone and the users buys only one.

If Samsung starts giving all it's sales numbers i am sure it would be way better than apple seeing that it's mid rangers and the entry level phones always sell like hotcakes

I thought Samsung generates atleast 30-80 dollars on every iPhone & iPads that has been manufactured.. Why? Because they produce some iPhone & iPad major components like:

1. Processor (the so called A4, A5 or whatever name)

2. LCD display - on new iPad, yes the so called "Retina display"! I wonder why Samsung doesn't use this to their tablets, maybe some Apple-Samsung agreement i think)

3. DRAM, flash memory, etc..

So if Apple sold 37+ million iPhones in a quarter, just multiply it to lets just say, 30 dollars, and Samsung gets 1.1 billion dollars. So I think it's a win win for both of them.. :)
