Phone arena told me that no one would buy a Samsung again after the note 7 and that the S8 was lagging so much it's flopping.

Read the article. They are making most of the money from chip and screen deals. Phonesrena just decided to right their article different. Apple actually helped their numbers more than the S8 with the OLED screen deal.

"Apple actually helped their numbers more than the S8 withthe OLED screen deal." Help? There is no help here. Apple buys what is currently best in the market, and it happens to be Samsung's. Simple.

This was second quarter, before Apple bought OLED screens from them. Jeez, any positive Samsung article is like a hot poker up your nethers.

They don't pay for the OLED screens until delivery, they don't just pay a lump sum when the deal is made. Its just another excuse to give a positive spin for Apple to push product by their tech media sales buddies.

Even BGR can tell you the OLED deal with Apple is future money for q3, not q2. Either way, if Apple wants to "help" someone, they can send that money to me. Samsung doesn't really need the "help". The comments section actually works a lot better when you all get the facts right (or *write* in your case). "Moving into the third quarter, Samsung is poised to see continued growth. Apple remains one of Samsung’s biggest....." http://bgr.com/2017/07/07/samsung-q2-profit-record-iphone-8-boost-coming/

LOL? That OLED screen deal hasn't happened yet. Also Apple can be grateful that Samsung can deliver theirs demands or it won't be any iPhone with AMOLED screens in near future. Same as 3D nand flash supplier is SAMSUNG! Who needs help from whom more?

Didn't your teacher taught you that, as per Accounting rules "Revenue recieved in Advance" is a liability to the company until the goods/services are delivered or contract obligations are met? Oh Sorry you are an iblindfoldedSheep.. You will overlook everything.. Forgot that, My Bad.. :)

"We can’t say that we are entirely surprised" sure, can be seen by your prediction of Samsung going bankrupt after Note7 issue.. which constantly linking each time with a new "article" related to Samsung.

I know they mentioned the whole note 7 issue quite frequently after it happened, but when did they say that the company was going to go bankrupt?

was a period right after N7 issue, couple of "articles" saying what a big financial hit Samsung takes, making a conjunction with washing machines having issues saying that this will have huge impact in Samsung future, made me to understand the meaning in that way. Sure, opinions may differ!

"Sammy continued to struggle in Q1 this year, marking a 9% decrease in year-on-year operating profits. " - Simon K. The research staff at PA continues to work undertime. "Samsung brought in an operating profit of 9.9 trillion won or $8.7 billion. This makes Q1 2017 Samsung’s second-best quarter ever and also represents the highest-ever operating profit for the January to March period." https://www.sammobile.com/2017/04/27/samsung-posts-highest-ever-q1-operating-profit-on-revenue-of-44-7-billion/

You are so right. Some folks desperately try to seize whatever opportunity they can to caste Samsung in a negative light, often employing falsehoods. Folks, you had better just get used to the reality: along with Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Facebook, Samsung is a major technology super power. It is widely being reported that Samsung is now moving past Intel as the largest chip making company in the world. Samsung also leads the world in mobile display quality and volumes, and in the TV volumes as well. In fact, when it comes to hardware/components, Samsung is the major super power, seeing as most of the others mainly offer software and services.

PA is not a good site. It anti samsung news and hyping the BB is a proof (Latest BB financial report show bb in collapsing revenue from software side)

Exactly my Friend. What bloody I dont understand is, they can't even stand by there own Articles. That is Plain horrible for any Website to loose integrity in viewers eyes. They themself reported Samsung did wonders even after Note 7 fiasco in Q4 2016 & Also Q1 2017. Please PA, be in your own words at least if not by others.. Dude, I couldn't give any less of a s**t if I tried about Samsung's money ventures. If they succeed, they can keep making iPhone parts, which is excellent imho.

I'd rather buy the real deal Galaxy, rather than a copycat iPhone with all Samsung made parts, but to each their own.

. kiko007 (Posts: 5136; Member since: 17 Feb 2016) Not might, fam. Samsung's mobile revenue has been steadily declining for 4 years now. Their components sales have definitely been on the uptick, and have long since past their Mobile Division. The components sales to Apple by themselves beat out any Sammy mobile profits by a significant margin. THAT'S A TREND THAT ISN'T CHANGING ANYTIME SOON EITHER. "Apparently, mobile phone sales in Q2 accounted for roughly half the income that was brought by chip sales" --Simon K You care so much, you're willing to lie about it.

kiko007 (Posts: 5140; Member since: 17 Feb 2016) Lol, Apple made 11 BILLION dollars last quarter. That's more than Google and Facebook COMBINED. Samsung fans say the most delusional s**t sometimes. He definitely cares
