They looking for a phone that keeps its performance over time and you not going to be able to do that if you got an sd card reader in the phone due to the damage of r and w speeds as on phones it's like adding it to your PCs hd main cable, and unlike pc adding it like a USB port I.e. They do not add these card reader in the same way

Non removable batteries and microSD not big of deal for a lot of smart phone consumers this days we are not anymore in 90's plus the microSD kills the performance and Google ditched it on all Nexus devices for this reason.

I like you, you're funny. Just FYI, I'm not a Samsung fan, I simply own a Samsung device. I think being a fan of a particular brand is dumb, but its ok to have a favorite. But I hate articles that pint one company they hate own, but when anoher company has the same issues, it's made to be no big deal. Example, if the Galax SII has suffered similar issues as the iPhone 4, Samsung would have been ripped apart. If the Galaxy S or Note could be bent as easy as the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, it would have been blown up to the highest high. I love tech, I hate stupid brand loyalty. Anyway's back on topic. Based on previous numbers, Samsung lost sales were at the bottom, not the top. The Galaxy S3 sold over 50M, the Galaxy S3 sold over 60M the Galaxy S5 also sold over 60M and is still selling. Basically the S has keep its 50M strong sales plus every year since the GS3. Samsung sold 350M smartphone sin 2013, 330M in 2014 and this boost along with the Note 5 will certainly push them back to 350M and keep there pace of selling 82M smartphones per quarter in tact which started since late 2012.

Hopefully they do. It gets boring every year seeing Apple sell the most flagship phones. At least S6 and Edge will come somewhat close to Apples numbers, if these analysts, I mean weather men, are right.

sauce i dont think you get it apple has only themselves to beat samsung has to fight htc, sony,lg,xiome or whatever, oppo, oneplus, huawei, blu, kyocera and many others so to sell the same as apples numbers blows apples numbers to sheat yes am spelling it wrong for a reason. so get your little sauce 5 incher out of some guys ass and think samsungs competition is not apple but the world of android to have apples numbers a os of 1 company is amazing in tech world

Looks like you got pretty mad there. Calm down, drink some water, and take a breather. My posts are not meant to irritate your fanboyism. Samsung won't put a bullet through your head if they see you not defending them. R. E. L. A. X.

Well I agree and disagree. Example, how many other brands had Blackberry OS? None. Yet Blackberry sold over150M phones in a year. Palm OS also had high sales an no one else has the OS. Symbian biggest seller was Nokia who sold well over 300M phones in a year. I do agree that platform-wise, Apple doesn't compete against Samsung. If Samsung had iOS, the iPhone wouldn't even sell 10M in year, because only a fool would buy a locked down iOS devices vs one with an open version. Samsung competes mostly against other Android OEM's and the fact they sell 330M phones last year and 350M the year prior with other brand sharing the same platform is more of a feat than Apple with iOS. But you can't explain that to a fan, they are not reasonable. Also, even though Apple sold 75M phones in a quarter, the vast majority were the 5S, because there is no way Apple had 30 or 40M iPhone 6 models ready by Christmas After going into production in July. Just look at the numbers. Over 1Billion Android devices will sell this year as did last year and one company represents just over 1/3 of the total sales by themselves. That is a feat, but yet its Apple who gets the press to sell 75M phones when no one has iOS but them, while Samsung has sold 82M phones per quarter since the release of the Galaxy S3.

It won't last. iPhone sales will begin to decline with the larger iPhone now out of the way.

Samsung almost doubled Apple's 2014 sales, with 330 Million to 170 million. How is Apple the top smartphone vendor worldwide ? Apple may have done in a quarter, but for 2014 Samsung won easily. That is likely to be even more the case in 2015.

26. seven7dust unregistered

specifically speaking flagships ,as you can see 70 million isnt really near Apple's numbers, Apple sold that many in 1 quarter. they'll probably sell double or thriple that this year. and samsung is losing the mid-range war as well, Chinese are winning overall.

Apple sold that many with the 5C, 5, 5S, 6 and 6 plus, not just the 6. Also, what makes you think their sales will double or triple? All reasonable estimates think that the next iPhone will sell less now that the effects of a higher screen size are gone.

The iPhone isn't a flagship because its the only phone Apple makes...PERIOD. Also the S and Note are Samsung top phones and together as to models sold more than any single model of the iPhone the past 2 years. Also how you consider a phone with 2012 hardware being a flagship vs phones like the S and Note which actually have flagship specs. iPhone has 2012 specs, that is hardware flagship. Maybe back in 2012 it was flagship, it isn't today.

cmon, you are comparing 20-30 phone modes with 3-4 iphone models. besides Apple, i believe those new chinese vendors are the threat for Samsung, not for US market, but to other markets where volume does speak a lot such as China and India.

If Samsung cut down their phone models (And they should), they'd still retain the same amount of sales. Adding more models only cannibalizes sales between models.

samarette you should have posted the thing you put on sammobile the other day on here that would shut them up.

The whole goal is profit/sales, not sales/profit. Compare each Galaxy phone to the iPhone 6. Which one won? Neither. Even if you combine every sale of Galaxy phones last year, it wont change the fact that Apple garnered more money, making them superior

78. willard12 unregistered

Profit created by customers paying lots of money for a phone that is cheap to build, making them losers.

Most sales doesn't mean anything if you have to sell 3 times as much to get the same results. That is problem Samsung is running into. As a result they cut many of their models this year as this causes a rise in cost and expenses. If Apple projects at 220 million it will be another solid year. No need to sell more than 300 million. If this happens along with Apple Watch Apple could get close to becoming a 850-900 million company.

False. Apple sold 150M phones in 2013 vs Samsung selling 350M Last year Apple sold just under 200M phones, Samsung sold 330M. Those are facts, just Google them. They are simply the top selling single model, because they only make one model. But every year those selling totals are for all selling models they have available.
