Samsung intends to fight Apple's product ban request against the Galaxy S III in the US

0. phoneArena posted on 07 Jun 2012, 09:13

Samsung plans to "demonstrate to the court that the Galaxy S III is innovative and distinctive", which it is to do before June 21, when the Galaxy S III is supposed to hit shelves on most major US carriers. This will give its sales a head start against Apple's next iPhone, whenever it launches this year, and if Cupertino succeeds with the preliminary ban, things can get ugly, considering how long these lawsuits take to be resolved...

'Good artists copy, great artists steal.' We have always been shameless about stealing great ideas.' - Father of the Year

But not sure what your point is. You just listed 2 x things, cloud and voice assistant, that are clearly prior art that were in no way invented by Apple.

Not invented by Apple, but definitely copied by Samsung

So Apple didn't copy them ...or I should say, steal them? Its amazing that when Apple creates their own version you think they are 'innovating. When Samsung, HTC, Motorola....or pretty much any major competitor creates their own version then they are copying. You just might be a hypocrite. Apple takes it a step further by suing....then another step further by seeking a ban

It's alright, folks... it is clear that taco hates copying, but is perfectly okay with stealing.

Because Samsung trolls Apple in their products and not in court :)

Apple's new corporate strategy:

1) Find an excuse to block all other competitors' latest flagship devices...
2) ... but don't block Nokia's latest flagship device... they are Microsoft's play toy...
3) ... and don't block Sony's latest flagship devices... Sony is where we plan to maroon Android's future...
4) ... and don't block RIM's latest devices... they make US look good.
5) Keep all excuses on-file, just in case we do need to sue the living snot out of our current "pass recipients."
6) Consider competitors' newest ideas that can be "adapted" for use in the next iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
7) Assemble and brief our patent trolls and our litigation attorney team.
8) Unleash the trolls and attorneys on everyone except the "pass recipients."
9) Send menacing "reminders" to, and collect the "protection money" from, all "pass recipients."
10) Bring in the accounting team to count and stockpile our earnings.
11) A moment of silence in memory of Steve "The Innovator" Jobs...
12) Go back to step 1.

I wasn't fast enough to edit this in time before the next poster. So...

Edit: "The Innovator" should read "The GREAT Innovator"...

By the way, I love twelve-step programs...

If Apple manages to include the SIII in its current motion against Samsung, or finds a way to delay SIII sales, Samsung can get sue Apple for the losses on projected sales. The SIII has seen 9million pre-orders so far, now imagine how many billions Apple stand to lose. They are so stupid because they do not have a leg to stand on in this case.

If you remember this is the trick Apple tried to use against Moto- that if Moto gets an injunction against some Apple gadgets, and they lose the case, Apple would sue them for the losses. I don't quite remember what happened with that story but yeah, Samsung can use the same trick on its inventors.

But , with 9 million preorders (not even counting the Big $ in the US), that #1 position in smartphones is looking mighty vulnerable, and that is what really scares Apple.

I agree that Apple should be scared, but to keep trying to ban a product from being sold in a country is pathetic. Instead of trying to invent a product to compete with their competition they would rather do this crap. Shows Apple's weak side IMO.
