Samsung giving away $50 Google Play Store credit to Galaxy Note 3 owners in the US

Samsung is giving away $50 in Google Play Store credits to use for purchasing apps, games, movies, books or music. The offer is valid for Galaxy Note 3 owners in the US, and will run until January 6.

Redeeming the 50 bucks freebie is pretty straightforward. Just go to the promotion site in the link below, and enter your phone, address, email and the unique IMEI number of your handset.

Samsung shipped 5 million Note 3 phablets for a month, and quite a lot of those are flying off the shelves at US carriers, so it's a pretty generous offer, as the $50 amount would cover a bunch of Editor's Picks apps and money can be left even for some games, music or books, so head over to the source link and redeem your Play Store credit before January 6th has arrived.

People purchasing Samsung products at full retail price are called "호갱님" in Korean, pronounced [ho-gaeng-nim]. What this means? It's a compound word consisting of Hogu(doormat) + Gogaeg(Customer). The whole word translates to something like : Dear-Customer-Doormat. You seem to be one. Too bad, 호갱님.

Apple customers also paid less for their gadgets in US. Seem like most brands give good discount to US customers especially their black friday sales. You seem to hate Samsung with a passion. You put a lot of energy into stopping people from buying Samsung so how many did change their minds about Samsung? I didn't in fact i think Samsung offers the best regional support for my devices. I do hope there will be cheaper brand that would offer the same great device and support. I hope xiao ming would bring their phones to my local retailers.

Sammy let my GS stuck with 2.3. The crappiest phone I ever owned. Then the GNex with 4.3. That's it. Never a Sammy again.

The phone overlords must be on my side. I swapped my 16gig iPhone 5s for a Note 3 4 days ago. Just got my $50 code which will last me a year.

But is it safe to give out your IMEI number?

You do have to confirm that the phone is somehow active and that it meets the criteria. If you think about it anybody would be able to copy/take pics of all the unsold Note 3’s in a warehouse setting. At least on my box the serial number and IMEI numbers are exposed. With an IMEI number you can trace where the product was sold and if it’s activated on a carrier. I don’t see a problem sharing the IMEI number with Samsung; they did make the phone right?
