Samsung releases a second Android Oreo beta for the Galaxy S8 in the US, here's what's new
Certain Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices in the US and the UK have been eligible for the Android 8.0 Oreo beta program for a couple of weeks now, allowing willing users to partake and test out all the new features that Samsung has thrown in its TouchWiz Samsung Experience software. Actually, the second beta version of the software is already rolling out in the US after being launched in the UK the week before, introducing a slew of new features that you need to know about.

Build number G955USQU1ZQK6 of the software intros a host of new clock styles for Always On Display, which are a welcome addition to this customization-friendly part of Samsung's flagships. Aside from that, users can also tweak the opacity of the notifications in the notifications shade.

 Stability improvements for Dex mode and the stock launcher of the handset have also been introduced, though no significant new changes have been unearthed there.

The screen of the phone will now go dark when the device is mirroring to a TV with the Smart View feature, which is a great battery-saving addition to the fold - your device will now deplete its battery at a way slower rate when you're mirroring it to a bigger screen.

Oh, and it also gets the October security patch which should help you feel safer that your device is immune to the known loopholes that Android was susceptible to.

As usual, we can't say for sure if these new features and improvements will remain in the official Oreo rollout for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ or not, but here's to hoping that they will stick around.
