Samsung does it again, making fun of those waiting on line for the Apple iPhone 5

Samsung has released a new television ad that not only makes fun of the Apple iPhone 5 and its features, but also hints that the Apple iPhone 5 is the phone for your parents; the ad shows that many of the iPhone's new features, such as a larger screen and LTE coverage, are nothing new for Samsung Galaxy S III users...

I say the same stuff about siri, facetime, icloud, and a host of other goofy "features". They're all about trying to make the most "gee-whiz!" software instead of the best and most reliable, and don't focus enough on hardware. Whereas companies like Nokia focuses on excellent top-notch hardware and USEFUL software like Maps, CityLens, Drive, Music, etc.

You and protozeloz are both right. FaceTime is not all that (though I blame the carriers for not allowing it on 3G and now data caps) and the only thing I really used siri for are alarms and my time/location based reminders (but to be fair siri may be a little more useful now). The problem though isn't not knowing how to use it (everyone can use FaceTime/siri) its that they don't need to use it. With things like ShareShot, both are issues. But the main difference between Apple and other companies is that Apple can easily make features mainstream. Just compare Samsung's Chat-on vs Apple's iMessage. Panorama has been in the App store and on other Android devices for a long time but lets not pretend iPhone users aren't going to use it like crazy and act like its the best thing ever. And just wait until NFC appears on iOS. But yeah, the Samsung commercials are well done, but they're unrealistic and misleading.

problem is most commercials are unrealistic and misleading, someone took his time to demo a siri commercial and it was obvious that sometimes you could take lots of time asking the phone doing something for you than doing it yourself, I use Google now to set alarms and is super fast plus I don't need to "confirm" if I see the time is correct, plus the cards are amazing, they appear as you need them and you get tons of cool notifications based on where you are and what you may be looking for, a totally new level

It makes no sense to be loyal to a company that doesn't pay you. Also no one should be dumb enough to wait in line for hours/days for a phone.

WRONG! People still lined up for the Galaxy Nexus and SGSIII and i'm sure other previous devices as well. Get your facts straight.

This makes me hate Samsung, they shouldn't do this. This is a stupid way of marketing in my opinion. They think Apple fans are like that, that's talking about millions of people and it's just plain stupid.

I enjoy commercials like these. It's just showing what features that apple doesn't have while making subtle jokes. I actually bought a mac book back in the day because of the Microsoft-Apple ads like this one, so these kinds of ads do work haha

OMG, that was classic. And, sadly, true. I saw "them" on-line yesterday afternoon outside of the Best Buy Union Square Store; barriCades, chairs, coffee and all. I just hope they weren't stupiD enough to stay out there during that monsoon we got in the early evening. No phone is worth it if you come down with severe iPneumonia just to get that new "digital" connector.

Dude (or, Dudette), that's how they make money; flash-enabled Android phones. iRoniCally, those pop-up AdvertiSements do not "pop-up" on their beloved iPhone.

An overly saturated commercial that doesn't really define an Android experience rather the nifty features in which gives off a hypocritical notion of reeling in "sheep" themselves. I grow tired of the mudslinging and just wished Samsung would be the better company to consider taking the hits and be something different. It was cute and entertaining but that doesn't attract the consumers.

i agree with your opinion... the fact that you want customers by making the ones you want feel stupid for trusting a phone company just to switch over and trust yours... eh? doesn't make sense... i don't believe iphone users are looking to buy the most advanced phone... they're looking for the most efficient and attractive one. iPhone iOS that's what its about.

Apple isn't worried about the loyal customers leaving, they're worried about the ones that don't know any better leaving. Face it, most people who bought the iPhone haven't really done much research and got it through their social group. All Samsung really has to do is let people know Apple is slow in technology. People want the latest and greatest or else everyone would still be on the original iPhone. If Samsung really wanted to take big shots at Apple, they'd just advertise about using Samsung parts in iPhone then say they use better in theirs.
