"...based on Samsung’s current expertise in the mobile devices market."

That's an understatement lol Samsung FTW!!! even with Windows' relatively unpopular platform =)

ARM is the smarter way to go for phone app compatibility and extended battery life. x86 is the better way to go for PC compatibility and better over all power.

Im so torn. I think IBM's push into the ultra mobile device sector with x86 is going to be a complete failure (price, compatibility issues with mobile apps, power issues) and ARM will eventually push its way into netbooks and laptops with cortex A15 and beyond catching up to (low end) PC like power but still giving great battery life.... but I want a tablet with PC functionality and power now, and that can only be delivered with x86.

For once I agree with you, if x86 win8 tablets hit the market it will be right Around the time I look to replace my recent purchase of hp win7 desktop; shes a beauty. The only sad thing is we will see Qualcomm processors in Samsung and Sony tablets, I much prefer to see Nvidia and TI but hey maybe Qualcomm will surprise us and go against the grain. I would be delighted if I saw Qualcomm produce a high end product that doesn't lag behind its competitors. As it stand Samsung, TI, and Nvidia round out the winners' circle.

P.S. Remixfa since Samsung failed to supply the galaxy nexus with exynos chips whats the odds of Samsung manufacturing the T mobile g3. I would like to see 1.5.-2 ghz exynos or possibly exynos quad core, HD screen, 8 gb internal memory 1.5 ram. But I really see lg getting the nod with their own HD screen, 8gb internal, 1- 1.5 ram and the Nvidia quad core. Anyways what are your thoughts on a cool vanilla android device alternative to the galaxy nexus?

My educated guess is they couldnt promise enough supply of the Exynos chips to make google happy and went with TI as a solid second place chip. Gotta remember, most of the exynos chips samsung makes are actually A5 chips inside of the iphone4s. They did however recently finish that chip factory and were promising a lot more supply. Enough to licence out the chip to others or so they said.
As far as the exynos 4212 and 5xxx chips (2nd gen dual core/ quad core respectively), I would love to get my hands on them. Samsung is promising the same power and a hair more from the 4212 dual core that Qualcom is promising with their first gen Krait quad cores.. The 5xxx quad core exynos is going to be so far ahead of qualcom, its probably going to be a sad joke.
Thats not saying the krait is going to be crap... but I think it will end up being the last place quad core (power wise). Of course, even in a race between a Porsche, a Lambo, and a Ferrari.. one of them is bound to be last place.

The best non-nexus phone is still a REAL (aka Exynos only) SGS2. Samsung has a wide embrace of the mod community, so there is a ROM for everyone.. including stock and ICS mods (though not stable for ICS yet) for the SGS2. Its still the most powerful handset on the planet right now and with all eyes on the Nexus, it might even go on sale.
If your in a position like me.. On Tmo, unwilling to put a crapdragon Hercules in your pocket and unsure if we are ever gonna see the nexus, I'd say just wait. There is still the off chance of the Samsung Note on the horizon (1.5ghz Exynos and 720p screen), and all the goodies this year is going to promise. Also, dont forget T3 enhanced sets will be out in Q1.. which is only a few weeks from now. :)
