Samsung SGH-T528G is a TouchWiz 2.0 feature phone for Tracfone

0. phoneArena posted on 10 Jun 2011, 16:48

The Samsung SGH-T528G is essentially a lot like most of the touchscreen candybar feature phones we’ve seen Samsung put out year after year. Some of its features include a 3” display, 2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth...

I bought the phone last week and loved it. That is...until it it started shutting off by itself. It does that at least a couple times a day. Yesterday I woke up to the phone being completely frozen.

Also, it ate my memory chip and I still haven't been able to get it back.

Returning the phone ASAP!

I purchased hard rubberized cases for my phone on ebay.com cost was 4,99 and 5,86 for 2 different cases. You have to enter your phone model and look. there are a lot of choices.
I have had my phone for a little over a month, I switched from Verizon, which I loved, but this is much much cheaper, a touch phone, and I am getting more for my money, esp. no contract. I have had no trouble with my phone at all, knock on wood!!! I love it. It is my first touch phone, and I think I will always have one, I think it is a very good value for the money, and would reccomend it,

I've had this phone for a week now and for the most part I am pleased with it. Reception is good, camera is great ( lots of editing features ), I can send now send pics with audio (which is cool), web works fine. This is my first touch screen phone so texting is definitely something i need to get use to.. Not as fast as my other keyboards, but getting better. It's annoying that the 'OK' button and 'Backspace' button are too close and small to each other and many of times, I've sent incompleted texts out, but it's all a getting use to. Other than that, I'm happy with my new phone!

To anyone having the random shutting off issue, I also had this issue. I figured out it has something to do with my autosyncing the Mail Exchange. I disabled this and it stopped. enabled it again and it started again. tested over the course of a week this has fixed my resetting issue. If my knowledge helped you send me a thanks via message on facebook. I like to know I'm helping others. facebook email is leeburgessfun@gmail.com I have another account also, but I can't give out that email for fear of spam.

I bought a different straight talk phone and didn't pay attention to the sd card so I want to buy this phone. My husband was looking to buy a tracphone. Since they are the same phones will a trac phone card work with this phone instead of the straight talk refill cards.

I have had this phone for about a month and cannot find a hard case anywhere. I've looked at several places and still no luck. I talked to one sales rep. and they said they don't makes covers other than the leather ones. Nothing fashionable, and deffinately not something a teenaged girl wants.

Hay, I got the Samsung T528g phone 8/8/2011 I Like it but it does have a few problems.
1. texting is hell try to get better at it, not big on texting if i was
would try it back.
2. there is a side button that also unlocks the display if you
have it in your pocket and the button gets push it will unlock
3. when you on the phone and you get another call the display
will unlock and your face will hit the display causing you to
put the onother person on hold, mute, on cut them off.

As far as the other features you would need alot of patience
Still trying to make up my mine if I should take it back.

i've had this phone for about a month now. almost got the nokia e71 till i saw this and decided to take a chance. glad I did, I love the touchscreen functionality. in landscape mode, i have way more viewing space for the web browser than i could possibly get with the nokia smartphones at st. the wifi feature is great. thought i'd have issues with call quality as my last phone was on verizon towers wheras this one is on att. friends say the call quality is not quite as good as with my last phone but nothing major.

now for the not so good. texting took a while to get used to but that bottom row of letters is just absolutely horrible. i miss the spacebar just about every bleeping time and have to redo. come on samsung, you can do better than this. I know it's only $100 but sheesh, that keyboard really needs some work. then there's those system messages that tell me how many kbs i've used after web browsing, I may get charged (kbs) if I proceed, etc. I really don't need the warnings. Really, I don't. So annoying. This needs to be turned permanently. I don't care what the reasoning was for having these messages, they really aren't needed.

Worst feature: if people reply to a text thread, this thing counts the messages in a thread and deducts it from my text message allowance. Really? How cheap. like this would make me move up to the $45 a month plan? if anything it makes me more determined to stay at the $35 plan out of spite. getting charged 3 or 4 text messages for one reply doesn't seem like much but it adds up. I guess it's better than being at verizon but come on straight talk, stop spoiling such a good thing.

overall i'm pleased with the phone. hopefully this will hold me over until straight talk gets smartphones that aren't blackberry look alike relics. how about android/iphone type phones st? we're waiting.

I just bought the T528G...I got sick of paying for two Blackberrys a month with a bill of 155.00 per month....now my oldest daughter has a Iphone so I thought this phone would be just about the same as her...and they keyboard would be the same...I need the key board like my blackberry...it took me 20 mins to send ONE TEXT....I really wish they would have added this on the list of info that was listed on the box before I bought it...I would have just flashed my Blackberry over to another carrier! If you dont like old school text...dont buy it...if there is a way to change and get rid of the old school text please post and let me know!!!!

The only thing I find fault with this phone is it is difficult to post to a website especially when it has SSL involved on the website. It has a problem redirecting the url properly. Other than that it is a great phone. Does anyone know of a solution for this problem or am I missing a setting that needs to be activated/turned on?

I purchaced this phone about 5 days ago. For the price of $99.95 it's a steal! I checked into most other wireless companies and found to start service you are looking at $180-$200.00 and you have to either sign a contract ( 2 yr usually) and get free phone and get stuck with a $50-$60.00/month bill or dish out the $200.00 for a phone, and if you need web acess you will pay from $5-$15.00 extra a month! So ST through Wally world is a great deal. I purchaced the $30.00 plan with activation and have plenty of web time and msg/talk time left. All in all I spent $145.00 to start phone service with NO RESTRICTIONS. The phone is great! Fast WiFi and plays video, music as an MP3 player with a HPhone jack to use in car or whatever also has great sound/video quality and camera has more features than my new poloriod! lol It's a gread phone and a great deal to boot!

If you calibrate the phone to your touch it works better when you text. This feature should be an options in settings somewhere.

I have not found any menu or setting on the SGH-T528G which gives me the option to calibrate the screen. I have to touch beneath the button I want to click, and that's kind of hard with the space bar, since it's at the bottom of the screen. It's really a cheaply-made phone, with little thought given to useability or customization.

this is a horrible phone. it shuts itself off in the middle of texting or browsing - that is if you're able to get online. dials contacts on own like its possessed. cannot enlarge a written article for easier reading without being blocked by bogus error messages. it's a mess of a phone!

well.......... it helps to shut the phone off regularly...... it shuts off because you aren't doing it for it.

If you are expecting an Android phone or are expecting it to work like an ipod then don't buy this phone. This phone is exactly as it is described. I think this is why some people don't like it or says it's crap.
