I just want to say Samsung is starting to push their tizen more and more, even the latest Gear watches are all tizen. Also Samsung is coming out with a Google Glass competitor in the fall running tizen. Samsung if you can't remember to use the OS that made you successful, then my money won't be going to you and your devices in the future. This is coming from a person that recently purchased a S5 and Gear Neo. I have only Good things to say about your phones. I even recommend a number of friends and family members, but like I said if you continue to push your OS instead of Android, then we have to part ways.

They haven't released a single phone yet you say 'push their tizen more and more' Gear had huge battery issues when running on android hence they released it with tizen. Remember the first gen was android. Who told samsung's version of glass is running tizen ?

Samsung was nothing in the smart phones. They tried their bada roughly at the same time as Android but it didn't go anywhere. Yes we all know they made tons of feature phones. But Samsung was never big in smart phones until Android came along and helped it grow to where they are today. Just look at Apple and iOS. It's one thing to have hardware, and its another thing to have an ecosystem behind the hardware and OS. The same holds true for Android.

I think even android was never big as smartphone OS until galaxies start to hit market.. I agree with Ashoaib with this that its from both sides. If you are concerned with sammy trying to push Tizen then there are other people who are concerned about google trying to push nexus..the thing is in equillibrium, u dun need to worry :)

http://www.phonearena.com/news/Business-Korea-Samsung-will-release-its-Gear-Glass-at-Septembers-IFA-2014_id56118 All I am saying I love Googles apps and services and Android OS. If Samsung strays away. Then they will loose me. That's all I am saying.

It goes both ways. In fact people search for galaxy more than android. Think of it as a business perspective. Android is open source and with every new version of android. Google is taking over all aspects of the software. Soon huge profits will not be made from phones itself. Profits will be made in the software apps/os running the phone. Samsung is smart why let google take all future profits. Also tizen will evolve and i speculate one day will be able to run android apps. Linux

I will worry about Tizen if its affect Samsung ability to make Android devices. But its far from that. They are even making parts for Apple iDevice and launching new devices every month. Tizen would not be more than to replace their low end devices and limited feature devices such as Gear 2. Samsung bada is a good lesson for them. To make Tizen more successful than Android would require the rest of the OEMs to pick it up. Google with a Motorola is giving OEM cold feets, Samsung would never be able to conceive the rest of the Open Handset Alliance to switch to Tizen over Android.

not many had a choose to update and get this phone on new carrier or wait 6 months for another with same crap service, and also not all android or smart people know they could use the heart rate app and do the same thing and also that most phones can handle the water and dust this is not new to phones, watch the m8 water test its in water for hours no prob there. still mad about the s5 let down the s4,5,6 concept we all know about is what it should have been and looked like.

You seem to have a very unique and premium logic, the millions who bought the S5 are all fanboys. Oh and btw, you're welcome :D

You're an idiot if you think it's was 11 million fan boys that bought the S5.

No I didn't realize you were being sarcastic. I apologize. Sometimes it's hard to figure out who is being sarcastic and who is being serious when it comes to the comments on this site. Especially when it comes to articles about Samsung.

Wonder how version two(Prime) would have sold in its place from the get go. SS an HTC, phone model spammers of the gods, diluting everything before it.

Galaxy s5 prime must be a very powerful smartphone but its not a good idea to use QHD resolution in a 5'' cellphone.

7. sgodsell

Posts: 6739; Member since: Mar 16, 2013

Considering not to many laptops or tablets are pushing that resolution even in a much larger physical footprint.

Samsung cellphones just need a better material and design.

Camera = excellent Features = excellent Battery life = excellent Performance= very good Updates = very good Customer service = excellent( in my country) Design= good Durability= super excellent. My note 3 still looks and work like new after months of purchase. Now samsung hater! You see why they sell so much phones than the rest of the competition? Design and smoothness of OS is not everything.

Yes, if you list your opinions about a bunch of random criteria you will surely be able to prove people wrong...

What opinions Mr. Butthurt? He didn't say they are the best, he mentioned what every other reviewer had confirmed, it is an excellent phone. Is it the best, I am not sure, but it is surely won't disappoint those who buy it.

I'm not saying anything about the phone, I agree that it's a great device. Nor am I "butthurt". But to call out Samsung "haters" and list a bunch of opinions and anecdotal evidence as facts? I'm sorry, but that doesn't prove anything.

one does not simply say "I'm butthurt"

Please feel free to let us know your opinions, as you did nothing to prove him wrong with your comment. I'm no Samasung fan and think all the hate they get is hilarious, yet I have not seen anyone post something that is actually wrong with the device. I'd say he's spot on with at least 5 of those and I wouldn't call them random either. They are the main features people look for in a phone. People say it doesn't look good, but that's subjective and it that's the only thing "wrong" with it then I'd say Samsung did a pretty darn good job. With the M8 we hear nothing other than the camera sucks, the Z2, well no one knows cuz you can't buy it. The G3 should be good, but I still question whether or not their UI is any better or worst than Touchwiz.
