I wouldn't say the average consumer wants features. A lot of people like the iPhone because of its simple and straightforward nature and avoid Android because they think it's too complicated. I have coworkers and family members with Samsung phones who couldn't tell you what features their phone has. I know more about their phones than they do because I visit tech sites.

A lot of people use iPhones because they think it simple and straightforward to use. The reality is actually that is familiarity with IOS that makes it seems like that. In fact, Android can be just as simple and straightforward as IOS in many ways more so. The difference is for those who like to do more, the options are there on Android, but sadly lacking on IOS.

Nope, I don’t agree with any of that. Most people just buy a new phone because it’s the new one out. They don’t sit there looking up every new feature. Only the tech enthusiasts care about Ram, battery mAH, aperture etc.. You talk about a small minority wanting stock Android? Well the tech community who sit there pondering at every new software feature before buying a phone is even smalller. Test it yourself , go ask a bunch of people what software/hardware features their phone has and if they bought it based of off them. Doesn’t matter weather they use the iPhone , Lg’s , galaxies etc, most people won’t know or care. Only the tech people do. The Nexus 4 wasn’t advertised like any of the other phones you mentioned, it wasn’t pushed in carrier stores and not to mention you’re talking about a phone that launched with 4.3. Android wasn’t that mature then. If you have to justify people not wanting stock Android by bringing up the Nexus 4, LOLOLOL that’s enough right there for you to see how flawed you’re argument is. Also plenty of people prefer stock Android, Lenovo themselves admitted the Chinese market and Indian markets and places around those regions which have huge populations all prefer stock Android and that’s why they will drop their skins. Also I don’t know why you’re arguing so much about this, the whole point of this article was for people to state their preferred feature they want in the S9. Stock Android is mine, you’re fighting so hard to make sure I don’t get it? Besides you don’t even get what I said , they should provide an option for people like me, that means you and anyone else who wants touchWiz won’t be affected. So what’s you’re problem.

They were killed because no one was buying them. The Google Play Editions cost more, were not subsidized by the carriers. Which also hampered sales. You had to pay sull price for them. So If you can walk in and get a Google Play for $800, but get a subsidized phone with NO MONEY DOWN, which one are you gonna buy? It it that hard to use common sense, or is that a commodity these days? There is a way to get stock Samsung ROMs. They are posted on Samsung-Updates.com website. It just seems you want to criticize vs educate yourself on what you don't know, or choose not to know just so you can bash Samsung.

I dont know how curved screen creates a prob? m using edge screen for 2 yrs now never had accidental touches. n Looks r subjective still i believe evn S6 Edge is luks betr thn or on par with any of current gen phones.

"Better wallpapers". Great point, #staystrong S8 owners.

Honestly? The only thing I would *need* is the FPS placement. The S8 is probably the best handset of 2017, but the utterly terrible FPS placement killed it for me. The only other things on my wish list would be to get rid of the curved screen or at least really minimize the curve.

It is much better on the note 8. With a slim case on my finger drops right onto the scanner and the heart rate sensor gap means I don't touch the camera. And most of the time I use the iris scanner anyway.

I'd say it's much worse on the Note 8 unless you have really long fingers. I don't have small hands and I have to completely re-adjust my grip on the device in order to unlock it.

Agree It didn't take long to learn right were to pick up my note 8 and I hit the FPS every time. It's just learning that sweet spot.

No need for that when you already have 3d touch home button.

Better OS than Android. Something comparable to iOS.

Samsung really needs to kick Samsung Experience out or atleast make it work smooth like hTC Sense UI or like Oxygen OS. I own a Galaxy A5(2016) the hardware is best part but the UI is the worst thing on it even on any other Galaxy phones. I almost paid ₹25000($389) for it thinking it will be as fast as my Moto X 2014. But almost after 1 month I started experiencing those stutters while scrolling or frame drops whenever a notification pops or lags while shifting from 1 app or other which is somewhat frustrating. I really have plans for upgrading from my 3 yr old Moto X(which is still hella fast) to a Samsung flagship(probably Note series) but I still have doubts about the UI which lets me down from buying any Samsung phone.

If you want to buy a mid range phone, buy one closer to stock Android. Buying a mid range Samsung will not be a good choice regardless of the device. There is too much layered on to run well consistently.

Allow to record 4K more than 10 minutes.. Users have right to record 1h or more if they want to.

1. Fingerprint scanner under the display. Synaptics showed it's possible. 2. 6GB of RAM. Rumor says that the regular may come with 4GB of RAM which is nowhere near enough in 2018 flagship.

Desktops that run Windows in most cases don't need more than 4GB of RAM, i'm curious as to why a smartphone in certain categories need more than 4GB?

Hey Samsung, my wish is that you release the ACTIVE version worldwide. Not all of your consumers like the curve screen.

For me, there are only two priorities: battery life, and bezel-free screen while staying compact.

DUAL OR QUAD FLASH?! STILL have a single flash and yes the 1.7 aperture level is great, but still not perfect with only one single flash..

1 - the location isn't perfect, but at least it has it still. Most people who complain about it, don't even have the phone or use on the daily. So their opinion doesn't even matter. 2 - is just plain false. The S8 and Note 8 which I have both, have a faster UI than even the latest model running Android or IOS. Side by side video prove this. 3 - It only needs to be loud enough to hear the phone ring. If you want quality sound, that's what the headphones are in the box for. 4 - They don't need faster update. Quality is better than quantity. Apple would update less if their phones had less problems. We get security update rather quickly and that is what you should get. 5 - The S8 is already out. You mean S9? Fix your typo then. Dual cameras is a useless gimmick. N matter who has it. I have the Note 8. I've taken less than 10 photos with the second lens. It is a useless gimmicky option. 6 - Yes. Until there is a better or equal quality solution, lets keep the jack. 7 - Plenty of wallpaper apps and you can Google them and download. 8 - Just remove the Bixby button. 9 - The Play Store offers them. Also Samsung's own camera app does let you edit 4K, it just doesn't offload the edit at 4K. That is a downer. But using a phone to edit a video is stupid anyways. 10 - Yes, all premium phones should be 128GB with a 256GB option.
