Samsung Galaxy S9+ appears in benchmark with (only) 4GB RAM, but it doesn't seem real

We don't have any reason to believe the regular Galaxy S9 model will feature a different technical specifications configuration except for the display. One other thing that the listing confirms is the fact that both smartphones will ship with Android 8.0 Oreo on board, which isn't surprising at all...

it's an android. they rely on ram because the cpu is slower compared to apple.

You think adding ram will magically make up for the lack of CPU power? That's not how it works.

Samsung phones don't need more than 4GB of RAM. No phone needs more than 4GB.

It is enough.

You might have never used a device beyond Chinese brands as Samsung uses the best ufs storage ever in S8, it's also the only smartphone which supports a UFS memory card. The best materials are used from inside to outside , you also didn't realize that this device isn't S9, S9 will be a beast in performance because Note 8 already beats iPhone X is speed tests all round the web reviews.

Oneplus has made me believe that more really is better when it comes to ram. 4 is enough but it isn't more than enough because 6 or 8 would be so much better.

If you're going to multitask between six to eight games then 6GB is needed but who does that?

Maybe not games but I've had more than enough apps opened on a S7 edge(sister's phone) that it needed to refresh some of them and of course the same can be said about my iPhone 6s plus that surly needs more than 2gb of ram. Sadly that aren't any phones currently available that I like with enough ram smh.

It is not. Samsung remains the top selling Android maker so what are u talking about?

Apple is the top selling phone maker in the world and yet they offer even less ram than Samsung. Being the top seller doesn't mean jack s**t when it comes to deciding if a company's phone has the right amount of ram lol.

I think Samsung is the top selling phone manufacturer in the world.

You are probably right given the amount of phones they produce, Apple is just the wealthiest. Oh well, I don't think 4gb of ram is what the top selling phone manufacture in the world should have in their flagship devices, Samsung should be raising the bar not keeping it the same for 3 years in a row.

That’s exactly my point. Their customers do not care, period.

I am a customer and I care, plenty of people who actually know what their phone specs mean do care.

You’re a phone nerd. Millions of people buy Samsung phones every year and they do not care and you know it. Today’s phones are fast and efficient enough. I swear you guys and your real world problems lol

I do love tech and I won't the best and I feel like companies should want to make the best for their customers and 4gbs is not the best and you know it. 3 years in a row with 4gbs of ram in their flagship phone is unacceptable for a leading smartphone manufacture like Samsung. Don't give me that BS about most consumers not caring because if they understood then they would, my friends and family sure do care and that's because they are somewhat informed and are the exact kind of people you are saying do not care. You yourself would care a lot more as well if you've used phones with 2gb, 4gb, 6gb and 8gb of ram, I have and more is better plain and simple.

It’s not BS, what you’re saying is BS. If 4gb of RAM is not good enough for you then buy another phone. If most people cared they wouldn’t buy Samsung products. But they do so you’re wrong. 4gb of RAM is plenty for the average user, period. Most people take pictures, surf the net, use social media, send texts and play the occasional game. You can’t tell me 4gb of RAM doesn’t handle those things like a champ. In the last year I’ve used and S8, G6, One Plus 3T, iPhone 8 Plus and now an iPhone X. All of which have various RAM and all are fast and responsive
