Samsung Galaxy S6 edge gets thrown on the floor but survives this violent drop test

Samsung built its new flagship phone from scratch after the Samsung Galaxy S5 was deemed a disappointment by phone buyers. The Samsung Galaxy S6 edge has a metal frame sandwiched by two pieces of Gorilla Glass 4, one in the front and one in the back. While giving the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge a new cool design, it does mean that the phone could be in pretty bad shape if it is dropped. How much protection can Gorilla Glass 4 provide? Perhaps a new video gives us the answer...

Apple products have high quality thanks to Korean tech, you imbecile. You can see how badly Apple products suffer when they try changing from Korean to Japanese and Taiwanese tech. The amount of Apple fans switching macbooks until they get a Samsung panel and Samsung harddrive is quite hilarious. For the most part, Apple products are nothing but rebranded Korean technology. Apple has been struggling to replace Korean technology with Japanese technology for awhile now. And when they do change a component with a Japanese counterpart, their products have gone down significantly in quality.

Display is made by Samsung. Glass is made by Corning. Only the S6 Edge touch unit is from Japan.

Who knows... I also find it strange that a right-winger supports Apple considering how Liberal and anti-American Apple is. Apple has invested more in the Korean economy than the American economy. The only thing Apple has done for the US was create an army of low-wage tech support workers. All the important R&D is done by Asian manufacturers (Mostly Samsung) that Apple buys from and rebrands.

Apple has invested in Korean economy? I have no idea what you are talking about. Buying components from Samsung, LG, Hynix is not investing.

Uhh, yes it is... Where do you think that money is going to? Hmm? Back to the South Korean economy for them to invest in improving tech, which Apple buys again. This creates high-paying jobs in Korea, not in the US.

Most of Apple's manufacturing jobs go to China, not Korea; ie Foxconn, etc. Reluctantly, it seems, Apple buys a few KEY components from Samsung. However, unlike Apple, Samsung does invest in the US Economy too. The A9 components are built in Arizona, in a 15 billion dollar plant Samsung built for just that purpose. So were it not for Samsung, there would be literally NOTHING on an iPhone built in the USA. Of course, Apple in all its wisdom are building a lot of processors in China anyway, on a 16nm process, because apparently Apple cannot abide providing American workers jobs, apart from manning kiosks and boutiques at minimum wage.

That's what I was going to say. Purchasing is not investing. Apple buys Korean components because that makes their profit maximized. I don't think Apple invests for Samsung.

Purchasing is an investment you idiot. Example, when you BUY a house it is an INVESTMENT that has a positive return. In fact you can sell your house and get more than you paid for it. Unlike cars. But cars are investments too, it just has a lower scale of return. Obviously you dont know what an investment is.

By the way, tsmc is not chinese but taiwanese. Though China claims that Taiwan is a part of it, tsmc is calling their country Taiwan and I respect them.

I like Taiwan but good with luck finding Taiwan's seat at the UN or naming your country's ambassador to Taiwan.

Apple gives China low-pay assembly jobs like how it gives the US low-pay tech support jobs. The high-paying engineering jobs go to component manufacturers. You think an assembly guy could come up with something like Samsung's ePoP memory that Apple will probably use for the next iPhone?

Yeah because overpriced cheap made phones need cases. The only iPhone i ever owned what the 4 and 4S. I dropped my 4S when trying to put in pocket and it cracked the back panel. of course the back glass isnt' Gorilla Glass. I replaced the part for $15 vs spending more than that in gas to go to a store. I don't own an iPhone 5, but we have 3 employees with one so far with more coming. Already one guy had his phone 2 days without a case and he has scratches on it. I asked him how he says, its from sliding it in and out of his pocket. He also says his wife has small scratches on hers just from her nails. A phone that starts at $749 shouldn't be so easily damage. Here both S6 models are under $700 and they are much harder to damage. That overpriced cheap china made garbage. In fact its not even the problem. The problem is Apple used the cheapest alloy they could find. They coating they put on it is so thin it comes off with just a few wipes of a microfiber cloth. A guy in a video wiped his with a cashmere cloth which is softer than microfiber and it scuffed the glass on the display. THAT'S CHEAP. But the claim the iPhone is better? Yes, its better at getting damaged easier and quicker than any phone ever made.

Buying Apple care is like buying two warranties. The phone costs $200 and the other $500 in profit used to be the buffer so they can replace your phone for free and still profit by $300 and pretend that they have amazing customer service. Now they won't even replace your phone for free anymore without Apple care. Talk about being straigh out crooks. How do people support these crooks with a straight face again?

how much is apple care cost and is it monthly or annual
