Samsung Galaxy Note 9 Android Pie update (One UI) is now rolling out in the UK
Following earlier news that the Galaxy S9/S9+ and Note 9 will start getting Android 9 Pie in the US and Canada in the coming week, the Pie rollout for the Galaxy Note 9 has already begun in the UK.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 owners based in the UK and Ireland have started receiving notifications for the Android 9 Pie over-the-air update, SamMobile reports. The new version of the firmware is N960FXXU2CSA2, and it's being pushed out to the unlocked version of Samsung's flagship phablet.

Android 9 Pie for the Note 9 brings many improvements to the table, chief among which is the redesigned user interface. Dubbed One UI, it is Samsung attempt to completely eradicate any remaining leftovers of the cartoonish TouchWiz and move onto something sleeker, better, and more mature. Even at first sight, it is obvious that Samsung's One UI takes a lot of cues from stock Android, with its (even more) rounded geometry, bold color palette, and strong focus on simplicity and automation.

One UI also introduces a gesture-based navigation system, which is aimed at making one-handed use easier and more intuitive in a world of ever-increasing display sizes. And then there's the (highly-requested) Dark mode, which dims the lights system-wide and makes using your phone in bed, late at night, a more enjoyable, less-retina-burning experience. To top it all of, the update also includes the latest January 2019 security patch (via SamMobile).
