Samsung Galaxy Note 8 with Snapdragon 835 SoC gets benchmarked

0. phoneArena posted on 12 Aug 2017, 19:19

If you've seen the benchmark scores for the Exynos-based Galaxy Note 8, then it's time to compare them to those of the Qualcomm-powered model, which have just been spotted at Geekbench...

"shouldn't you like, set a timer and be a part of the group photo inside the group?!"

How about recording a video of my pets jumping and playing around while including myself in the video as well?

Setting a timer doesn't do that... and to use a timer for taking a photo, I'll need to place the phone somewhere steady, and I do not always have a tripod with me.

But hey, shooting two separate 5-minute videos of my pets and stitching both videos together is also a possible workaround for having a 10 minute 4K video... no?

But hey, tell me how do you record a video of moving objects all while including yourself in it using a timer?

Could you point me to such a video (which doesn't look dumb) because I cannot possibly imagine how can one be included - while being behind the camera - in a video with his pet playing around...

Such a video which doesn't look dumb? That's a subjective matter.

I simply record my pets and opt to use the front camera when I want to express my emotion across the video, once that is done, I remove the front camera window and continue to record with the rear camera alone or just continue dual-recording if I want.

You keep calling it dumb or not imagining it's use, fine, since it's subjective.

I'm done on this topic, bye.

Is it so hard to provide a link to such a video?

"and the best proof is the fact that the HD display of iPhone is better than 2k display of s7 in any technical tests..."

What???? Samsung has been wiping the floor with the competition with its smartphone and tablet displays since 2012. And the iPhone does not even come close. In fact Apple supposedly will use oled display manufactured by Samsung for its upcoming iPhone because they are following the old adage "if you can't beat them, join them."

No, it hasn't; I'm not going to waste my time with one who evidently knows nothing about the tech behind the displays.

I guess what you meant to say was "I have no basis to stand by my statement which is contradictory to the fact that Samsung displays are routinely voted the best in the mobile segment and so I am going to act like I could not care less and question your knowledge."

Go check which 2016 phone has had the widest gamut, who was one to display some of the most accurate colors, who had the lowest reflectance and the lowest color variation with angle.
Only then you will be able to talk to me about displays.

I will tell you how to actually know which is which display is better. Keep both phone side by side, watch videos and photos. My 7 Plus has an excellent screen but little below than my friend's S7 edge. Let alone the S8 Plus that my other friend has. I am saying real life scenario, not numbers from paper.

Your eyes see things subjective (I also like the warmth of S7), but in measurements iPhone 7 has a better display than S7 (it is under S8 but nevertheless, it is the best display of 2016 quality of image wise).

Yeah I know, after reading that sentence of his, I felt like there's no point discussing with someone who knows nothing about what's happening in the industry.

For the record - I want to stay out of the pissing contest. But I've been using this, darkkjedii:

DuoCam - take two sided photos with both cameras! by Appveticahttps://appsto.re/us/F8nmH.i

This one is free and works great! There are more.

You've pretty much just put him in his place. He has no legitimate comeback for your comment.

Just like specs are also for bragging rights only.
Stop talking fanboy nonsense, there are areas where Note is better and there are areas where iPhone is better; no phone "wipes the floor" with the other phone.

Dude, you still trippin about this? I'm an iPhone and Note owner, not a link dependent fanboy dude. I know from personal experience.

Your experience must be very limited and biased, because I've only seen you talk about features and not about things one can do with those features.
You like having SD cards, I like the cloud; you have app drawer, I have unlimited apps in a folder; you have a back button, I swipe etc.
Tell me one thing - smartphone related (I don't care if you can play ping-pong with your phone) - that the iPhone can't do.

I have cloud on the galaxy and the iPhone...how bow dehhhhh...
Now is it easier to go thru the cloud to get what's not on your phone, or just pop in an ad card?

We can do this all night. How bow dehhhh

Dude, I can get a 256 GB of storage (200 GB more than I need) on my phone, if I need local storage, I have a lot in the cloud, why should I care about SD cards?!
Have you ever noticed that the SD cripples the performances? No, well, you either have a laggy device, or you have low standards.
Have you ever lost you data, stored locally? No, that's good for you. I have and I take good care now.

Youve been defeated, and have resorted to (my phone can't do it, so I don't need it).

I'm not fighting, I just want to learn (maybe I can get a better device than the iPhone, although I already have an Android flagship I would not use as my main device).
So, what can the Note do and iPhone can't - smartphone wise?

PDF expert, Adobe sign, sign it etc; I have signed PDFs since I got my first iPhone 4 years ago.
What else?

Spen will bring a whole lot of productivity tools mostly for work, not just signing document. I don't require this feature. and would be sticking with my 7 Plus for another year. But I know, Notes are fun to use and are on a league of its own, solely because if that S-Pen.

WHAT tools? Name them.

"The productivity of exphone is undoubtedly the best, because of all the features it hosts under the hood, features that, together with the tools it has, makes the Note a simple toy when it comes to productivity."

You still don't get it? The phone is a device for communication, it is a s**tty productivity device (unless "productivity" is related to "communication" stuff), is a s**tty media consumption device (unless "media" means a few seconds of YouTube), is a s**tty internet device (unless "internet" means quick browsing), is a s**tty office device (unless "office" means opening a pdf, making a mark and e-mail it). etc.
Stop giving praises to a great device that you are using to do s**tty tasks!

PS: I can hardly wait the end of the smartphone!!!
I would be the first to get chips implanted, get a hologram watch etc just to forget about all those dumb asses that really think the shit they say.

I do see my supervisor writing notes anytime with just his SPEN. It's just so fast and I find it cool. I don't need it but he needs it and he just can't think of getting anything else than Notes series. Pop up the pen in any screen and write it down.

He often mention multi window, s-pen etc which utilise the extra screen space. These features are not present in iPhone.

Hey man. I been always wanted to ask, how useful is the 3D touch on ur iPhone? I used it once it worked but i don't own an iPhone. Is it really useful? D u use it all the time?

Honestly 3D Touch is pretty cool. I didn't use it often, but I used it to go right to search on Facebook, and open new web pages. At times it's cumbersome, adding extra steps to achieve a task. Great feature, not so great implementation.

Aa i seee.. thanks man.. initially i thought it may make things more complicated. Samsung rumoured to introduce them on note right? May be together they'll mature the implementation further.
