i had this phone in my hand last week. The screen looks nice but this thing is aboslutely massive! The pic comparisons dont do it justice!

The width is perfect however, the height of the damn thing is absolutely unreachable with one hand.

How about a compassion against the Galaxy S II Skyrocket? I have read the Nexus vs. the original S II but I want to know how it compares to the higher end LTE device on AT&T.

Why does the header picture in the top left of the article show different and incorrect proportions?

Having had the galaxy nexus for 3 days now I gotta say, I absolutely love the size of the handset.

It just feels perfect in your hand and when your on a call, the screen size is brilliant and I was blown away with watch hd you tube vids.

Its an amazing and ICS is brilliant !!!

Only downside is the volume bug, which is fixed and patch on the way

comparing it to the 4.3'' screen rezound and razr and the nexus is pretty much the same size as them 2 but with a bigger display..due to the small bezels and the width along with the curves the phones feels smaller than the 2 phones i have named but i will admit that for me personally the phone is too big but considering the size and other smaller screened phones being the same size i think the galaxy nexus is small for the screen size it has.

I'd definitely say that 3.8" to 4.5" is definitely my sweet spot, I tried out a Sensation XL today and it was still less tall then the Razr. 4" to 4.5" with a 16:9 aspect ratio hits the spot for me. Some may argue that 16:9 makes it less comfortable to type on but it means you can swype the full screen length and your thumb does less travelling.

I think WVGA is like 8:5 or something but I think 3.8" and higher is good for a smartphone.

The smallest screen size for 16:9 should be 3.6" but Nokia manages to squeeze it into 3.2" screens which are hugely uncomfortable to type on in portrait.

Any display size over 3,5 - 4" is ridiculous for a phone. That's why it is called ''smartphone", it's still a phone. If you want bigger, go for an Ipad. I need something that I can actually carry in my pocket all-year-round, not in my backpack. It is really funny when you see a 5,1' tall girl ïn the street trying to talk on something that looks like a coffe tray, like Galaxy 2 or for example this new Nexus. Lol!

Used to feel this way myself, but after holding a Nexus in my hand, it was downright comfortable to hold. More so than even my EVO 4G was. I could get used to it, I think.

Agreed, it's not the size, it's how it feels in hand. I like the way my Rezound feels, but that's because at 16:9 the 4.3" screen is a bit narrower and because they contoured the back/edges.

4.3 inches is actually pretty comfortable to hold. It's all in the ergonomic design.

For instance, the iPhone 4/s is ergonomically terrible because of its sharp edges. It does not sit well in the hand at all.

I actually agree with this statement. I would like an iPhone with a bigger screen, but the iPhones is definitely the only 3.5" i can tolerate.

Could you put up a side by side with the HTC Titan since they are roughly the same screen size.

I can't understand WHY companies such as Samsung, HTC, Motorola etc. have to compete with eachother on who has the bigger screen? It's like while some of dudes compete who have the "biggest balls"....

I mean COME ON. 5 inch on a phone?! Then suddenly it isn't a phone anymore, it's a iPad/Tablet. 3,5 inch and 3,7 inch on a screen for a mobile phone is PERFECT - no matter manufacturer! I don't want to have a massive phone where I only can put it in a freakin' shoulderbag (!) instead of having it in my pocket, like a normal phone!

I disagree. It's not about competing with each other it's about giving the customers what they want... After switching from my D1 to DX I will absolutely never buy a phone with a screen smaller than 4.3".

I don't care about the specs (within reason) I want a nice big screen.

To each their own!

There are so many choices in Android phones that no one is forcing you to buy one with a large screen. I have a RAZR and find it comfortable to hold. In its Verizon protective shell, it's a few mm thicker and even more comfortable to hold and easier to grip, though less sexy looking :). The distance from ear speaker to microphone is perfect for my size face. It fits perfectly in my shirt pocket with room for a pen. The screen is large enough and the sound loud enough that I can show sample videos of my product to customers. I like it. The Galaxy Nexus will be similar in size with even better video. If it is too big for you, choose a smaller one. They are now much more than just phones. Think of them as hand-held computers.

Darn that nexus is huge I don't know man my pockets may be upset with me if I put in their. I hope clothing companies make deeper pockets. I wish they would have never passed 4.3 though

I am still waiting to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy S from Sept 2010. Ugh, I was pinning for the razr but it's too wide and you can;t remove the battery and the back is ugly in my opinion. The Rezound has awesome specs but to thick and heavy. Now the Nexus is just to big to justify buying. I still may buy it but sell it on Ebay when 2012 phones roll in.
