Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge to be launched by Sprint, Boost, and Virgin Mobile
Sprint is reportedly getting ready to launch a new affordable Android handset made by Samsung.

Called Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge, the upcoming smartphone should replace the Galaxy J3 (2016), and seems to be a slightly different variant of the Galaxy J3 (2017) - a device that's expected be officially announced pretty soon.

Just like the Galaxy J3 (2016), the Galaxy J3 Emerge sports a 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels. However, it's got some improvements under the hood, including an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, and 2 GB of RAM (instead of just 1.5 GB). Other features allegedly include a 2 MP front-facing camera, a 5 MP rear camera with LED flash, 16 GB of internal memory, and a 2600 mAh battery (no change here compared to the older model).

Sadly, it's said that the Galaxy J3 Emerge will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow at launch, and it's not clear when the handset is supposed to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat.

According to Venture Beat, the Samsung Galaxy J3 Emerge might be available at Sprint starting January 6. Sprint's pre-paid brands - Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile - will also sell the smartphone. Right now, there's no word on the price of the new Galaxy J3, but, as already mentioned, this will certainly be an affordable device.
