Samsung Galaxy A50 & A30 leak with Infinity-U displays, multiple cameras
The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018)

Samsung has already targeted the low-end segment with its new Galaxy M lineup. Similarly, the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy S10 range occupy the flagship and premium categories. Now, in the hope of covering the mid-range segment, the brand is readying an updated Galaxy A lineup which will start with the Galaxy A30 and Galaxy A50, two smartphones which have just leaked out in a set of live images.

As previously suspected, both of these models come equipped with large 6.4-inch Infinity-U displays. In both cases, the AMOLED panels are paired with slim side bezels, waterdrop-like notches, and relatively thick chins. The models also include refined rear designs complete with multiple vertically-aligned rear cameras. In the hope of cutting costs, though, Samsung has carved the rear panels out of glossy plastic rather than aluminum or glass.

In the case of the Galaxy A50, the previously-rumored triple-camera setup is clearly visible. This allegedly boasts a main 25-megapixel sensor paired with an 8-megapixel ultrawide camera and a third depth sensor which offers a 5-megapixel resolution. The dual-camera Galaxy A30, on the other hand, ditches the latter and lowers the resolution of the other cameras down to 16-megapixels and 5-megapixels respectively.

Another differentiating factor comes in the form of the fingerprint scanner. Like Samsung’s newly-announced flagships, the Galaxy A50 ships with an in-display solution whereas the Galaxy A30 settles for a more traditional rear-mounted one.

If rumors are to be believed, these two devices will be announced next week on February 28th. Initially, availability will probably be limited to a handful of Asian markets such as China and India but, eventually, consumers in Europe should also be able to purchase the devices. Once sales do start, the smartphones should be available in Black, White, Blue, and Red.
