More expensive Lumia 920? Think once again!! And what aluminium body? It's a FAUX FINISH.

Lumia 920 off contract is priced higher than this and yes this has a faux finish.
But this handset caters to the appeal of the busness-class folks with something with a more official finish rather than the coloful ones.

Diversity is always good :)

I think SS is playing waiting game, they don't trust WP8. Ativ S is GS3 in disguise so SS shouldn't have any problem with its production.

Sammy's probably just focusing on the iPhone beater Galaxy line, the demand is huge for the best smartphones on the market.

Samsung always released "reliably excellent" hardware, with Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S III, and Galaxy Note II, you knew that you were going to get some of the best hardware, with very innovative software this year round. No doubt that the Lumia is far more innovative, but its weight could very well be a deal breaker to a lot while the ATIV S has good results across the board.

I haven't even heard of US availability... The VZW variant Odyssey comes in December as well (and I do not think it will be an Ativ S relabeled; it will probably be a different phone).

But the Ativ will be released. Just a waiting game.

You must wait for every Windows Phone handset at least 2 months, always with Windows Phone's, look at Apple, they release the iPhone a few weeks after announcement and after one month it is availble all over the world (i'm not a ifan,i never will be, hate Apple).
Same with Android handsets (Samsung, HTC, LG and others, how fast do these handsets ship all over the world?! :)
This is the most irritating aspect for Windows Phone's, not even a announcement for a cyan Nokia Lumia 920 and not even a launch date in Europe, and what a price -_- wish i life in US ...

Samsung is not releasing the Ativ S because they don't want consumer to confuse it with galaxy s3. They want to sell more galaxy line to compete with iPhone and lumia
