Guess it's either the Moto X+1 or GS5 GPe for me now. Stock Android is still the way to go, Nexus or no Nexus.

Google is busy fixing its gmail, maps and playstore to be bothered with a mediocre phone like nexus. They would probably refurbish their old nexus phone and call it nexus 5 2014. haha

the Nexus phones arent really needed anymore. now that google is pushing core apps to the Play Store its pretty easy to get a nexus-like experience on any phone

Google still need nexus to stay relevant. Remember they don't have Motorola as leverage to keep their OEMs in line. Its too soon for another nexus anyway.

It was a good run while it lasted. I guess we couldn't expect that train to last forever. Besides, with Google putting the core functionality out there in the Play Store, you can turn just about any Android phone into a Nexus-like device. But it's going to cost more, or you will have to turn to contracts again (*crowd gasps*). I'll just go back to what I was doing before; buying last year's flagship devices.
