i would say android users are quite busy with the option to customize (rooting, custom roms/kernels, OC) rather than browse the web all the time :>

Is this a sarcastic comment? I can't tell if you're making fun of android users or trying to brag

Surfing on any iphone must be the poorest experience possible since they are never really on the TRUE INTERNET. Surfing on any android device is 100 times better than any iphone that's for sure. When we surf we see the actually internet not blank spots or large spaces where you know a video exist there. Android rules

They do, as I showed earlier, we're reading as safari users when set to Desktop agent. Whoops.

I just emailed Net Mobile Share and asked if an android phone on desktop mode registers as android or not. You and remix are about to eat your words. I can't believe that you two really believe something so basic would be overlooked. You know that companies can even identify the software version of the device browsing right?

And when they inform you you're wrong, will you admit it? No, you'll either claim they didn't get back to you, or you'll lie and say they told you it would still show as Android.

Yes I'll admit I'm wrong if I am

Riiiight. Like you honored your bet? Like you admitted you were wrong about the PA review of the One X said it was laggy? (by waiting until a single user who no one's ever heard of before wrote his had lag, then saying, "See, the review says lag!" while ignoring every review website which said zero lag)

LMAO that's hilarious. Just like you honored your agreement to leave when you were proven wrong about Samsung. You have zero credibility and are an absolute mockery of a productive, intelligent human being.

Though I'm loathe to use Wikipedia as a reference.. " http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_agent "A result of user agent spoofing may be that collected statistics of Web browser usage are inaccurate."

From now on, all comparisons from the iPhone should be made to the current Top 5 Android devices. Because more than half of Android users have a less than decent phone. Good phones such as Galaxy devices, Nexus devices, and other high end Androids. None of those T-Mobile Cricket devices with 2009 technology.

Yeah but some people don't use stock iOS or android browser and use 3rd party browser instead such opera mini

The thing is that with Android devices, at least up here in Canada, many people have android devices without a data plan, meaning that they are less likely to browse the web, I don't think Wi-Fi browsing is included in these statistics. With an Iphone, you have to have a data plan if you want to get the full subsidy on the cellphone, with many many android phones you don't. Many people buy android phones just to call and text, because they are cheap and feature phones are almost completlely wiped out the map.

how you connect to the internet makes no difference. these tests go by what browser you use to connect to the website. an iOS browser will pop up "safari" the stock android broser will pop up "android" so on and so forth. It lets the web page know which version of the page to send to your device so its best suited for the screen... and if u can do things like flash or html5. Android browsers also have whats known as "desktop mode". Instead of sending a ping to the web page as "android", it sends it as "desktop", so it pulls the 100% PC page to your phone. However, the site does not know one "desktop" from another, so it has no way of knowing if your on an actual PC or on your phone browser. Since many android users prefer desktop mode, it skews these graphs quite a bit since they are just measuring how often the web page was pinged by each option (safari, android, desktop, ect)

Ever heard of an ip address?

97. tedkord

An IP address has zero to do with identifying the browser contacting the website. It simply tells the sending server where to direct the information. It's like the address on a letter. It tells the post office where to deliver the letter, but not anything else about the adressee. You should really research, or at least have some basic knowledge of the subject before spouting off. You continually make a fool of yourself. http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/impersonate-browsers-user-agent-switcher-firefox/ Here's a good description of how faked user agents fool websites into thinking you have a different OS and browser.

That's only for the superficial loading of the website. The companies that do these studies still can identify the actual device. We'll see soon. I'm very rarely wrong because I care about facts unlike certain other fanatics.

That is laughable to see Taco and facts mentioned in the same paragraph.

" We'll see soon. I'm very rarely wrong because I care about facts unlike certain other fanatics." This might be the funniest thing anyone has posted in a PA forum. Both for the rarely wrong part, and the caring about facts unlike "other" fanatics.

OK crazy person, you do understand you are proven wrong on like, an HOURLY basis, correct? I'm starting to think taco is completely out of touch with reality. I suspected he was retarded and still do, but I truly believe he has a mental disorder know, the guy actually believes his own BS LMFAO. What an incredibly sad, lonely, pathetic existence. Oh and hes a filthy WELCHER!

Oh, be sure to take note of the quote below on that webpage. "Remember to switch your user agent back after you’re done. You wouldn’t want to inflate Internet Explorer’s usage statistics by pretending to be IE everywhere, would you?"

I went to whatismybrowser.com (made sure my settings had mobile view unchecked) and sure enough it showed Safari for Mac OS - Snow Leopard. I went to try it cuz I thought you were just B. S.ing, but there it was. I took a screenshot, but don't know how to upload a photo here. If anyone knows how, let me know & I'll put it up. And if anyone thinks I was using something other than my Rezound, the only Apple product I still have is an iPod classic 160gb. My laptop is an Asus. So maybe that's why they're seeing so many ios devices, cuz I do 90% of my browsing on my phone or tablet (Thrive) , except for the hardcore porn (hate watching it on a smaller screen) ;)

Just went back on there with mobile view checked and it showed Android browser on Android 2.3. So it makes a difference.
