"I use a smartphone or tablet 90% of the time for personal use." And 10% for not personal use? :)

hey taco, did you finally get old enough to get a part time job at mcdonalds? your mom must be so proud that your finally out of the basement. Did you take the playing card out of the back tire of your bicycle and remove your handlebar streamers so it would be more "manly"?

Work, that's cute. While the cash register at McDonalds IS technically a computer, I wouldn't go so far as to call it a PC. ... WELCHER

Or maybe they don't have time to just sit around and browse the web all day?

I'm guessing it's because ios users are doing really well if they can so much as make a phone call, much less operate a "com-puutor" for their web browsing.

Well another fact that flies in the face of people who say iPhone's 3.5 inch screen is inferior and too small. Obviously iPhone provides a better web browsing experience. However I would like a 4 inch screen on the next iPhone. No bigger though. I don't want a huge phone.

As has been explained to you before, more than once, many Android users set their browser agent to desktop, so it doesn't show up as an Android device. Why do we do that? Because our phone gets the whole web, not a castrated version like the iPhone. We can see web pages exactly as they are on a PC, we don't need to load the mobile versions. It's not that your screen is better for rendering web pages (though it's certainly fine for the mobile web), it's that we're getting the full web experience and aren't showing up as Android browsers.

As you're obviously ignorant iPhone has plenty of web browsers available that can give a desktop view. That has no effect on these statistics. Just another fandroid excuse.

Actually, it means that all of the teenage girls that begged their dads for a shiny hyped-up iPhone are checking Facebook too often. After using my Galaxy S II for so long, I tried to use my old iTouch 4. I don't know how I did it before.

when they figure out how to add in the numbers for android users that use "desktop mode", then I'll care. These graphs are always heavily skewed because of that.

Using desktop mode doesn't prevent the device being identified as a mobile device

Nor does it prevent welching on bets or being a complete embarassment.

ok taco. prove it. with all your vast knowledge of the internet, prove that setting your browser to desktop still makes it show up as android. go ahead. im waiting. f-in moron.

As usual you resort to insults with no facts to back it up. Desktop mode just allows the webpage to render as it would on a pc. It doesn't prevent the website from identifying the type of device it is. Prove that changing this setting doesn't allow these companies to identify the type of device.

Sorry to prove you wrong but i just tried it, set my Galaxy Nexus stock browser to desktop mode and it reported it as Chrome 11 on Linux...ha...

Bad news, Taco old bean. I'm set to desktop agent, and I went to whatismybrowser.com. Wanna guess what my browser reads as? Drumroll.... Safari 5. Do you ever get tired of being wrong? Those Apple browsing stats are making a little more sense now. All of us Android users enjoying the full web are showing up as Safari.

Wow the excuses just don't stop. Thing about this. Are you really claiming that android devices show up as Safari on these surveys? That website didn't conduct this survey. Think hard before you respond.

its not a website, its a company that polls thousands of websites about how their data is being pinged. Here, just to physically prove you wrong, here is my phone using both Opera and Chrome in desktop and mobile. See how the web page says its not android when its in desktop? thats what we are talking about, troll. Thats all the info ANY website gets about what device you are using. https://plus.google.com/photos/100459156021696505642/albums/5749808706421180177?authkey=CNqwrbCM45aKtwE
