$900+ isn't a lot of money for a phone...'s a stupid amount of money. Come on people, we have to stop indulging manufacturers that will price as high as they possibly can because we still keep buying their products. Apple feels it's okay to charge $1000 for a phone because people keep buying it. If NOBODY buys it at that price, they WILL lower it to more reasonable amounts. We have to stick together on this one.

I agree. There are things in life you know you will pay $1000+ for...home and care for example. But electronics? NONE of them should costs even close to $1000. Considering 99.9% of electronics are made with cheap labor, usually Asian countries; there is no way this stuff should cost that much. I dont care which country its going too. When I bought my S6 Edge 128GB and after she rung it up she said $939, I frikkin choked on my own saliva. I almost told her to put it back. But I slapped in on my AMEX. I realize phones are small computers. But they still dont do everything computers do and the parts inside are designed to be small. Because they are ordered by the millions, the cost is cheap. A $200 product shouldn't retail for $1000 in ANY country. I don't care what brand and I'm certainly nto picking on Apple. Even in the USA, $700/800/900/1000 for any electronics is pure highway robbery. I remember when VCR's first came out they were nearly $1000. They never got much smaller and any less harder to work. Setting the time was still nearly impossible even after they dropped in costs to less than $100.

You know, I actually forgot about their trade-in thingee. Let's see my HP Envy w/i7/16GB/256SSD/1080p should be worth a nice penny, plus I have an iPad Mini, Note Pro 12.2 I can offload. We finally have a Microsoft Store here in Downtown Chicago vs driving to the burbs. Would be nice if I could go online to see how much my stuff is worth. If I could get at least close $1000 in trade, I could get the $2600 Surface Book.

I was considering going the other room gorgeous $2099. But you just brighten my day if I can go up one more notch. The 1TB for $3100 is insanely pricef.

Made me remember when I saw my first Plasma tv at Best Buy. $10,000 for a 42" and that was starting to come down from $17,000. Those early plasma sets were notorious for burn in and they weren't even 1080p.

That's retarded, why jack up the prices when the country has an average salary of 234$?

40. engineer-1701d unregistered

simple in apples mind the product is a status symbol so if its so high people will always want to strive for one just because, like if you could buy a audi a8 or tesla p85ds or Bugatti you cant but you always will try to get one even old and used or beaten

lol I dunno mahn, I'm perfectly fine with my vw jetta tdi burning biodiesel haha

I would be happy or fine with that tdi as well. But you would be silly to think I would choose to drive it over my e46 m3. Or the kit car being saved for in the 67 gt40. I don't need a 80in tv, doesn't mean I wouldn't trade my 62 for it. I don't need a new pc, my 8yr old is zooming like no tmw with its raid ssd's. But I wouldn't put away a new chip/video/ram etc. This is why...not to start an economy war....this is the exact strive and argument that people have against socialism type of handout equality, that if you strive just for 'fine' then nothing happens. I am fine with my 73 pickup carb motor running on woodgas (better than biodiesel by a huge margin)....but yea.

Being in that when I make biodiesel after parties when I'm not buying it from Houston biodiesel I have yet to see how woodgas is better than biodiesel. And the fax machine sounding cars just go over my head. Contrary to popular belief I use biodiesel because I Save money, plus it kick start the economy on a whole other level, being that it can also be produced from soy (hello methyl ester) in addition to used grease. Unlike Dino fuels that make the rich richer, biodiesel helps farmers, restaurant owners, the people making it and t by product of transesterification is just soap, so Yai for savings and thus selling this to those who need it. I'm all for help out the middle class versus supporting an already billionaire, mainly because it is us middle class people that do all the supporting, and think about it: who's more likely to buy something where you live? The owner of shell or the owner of a local biodiesel shop? But no biodiesel has a lot of potential to a means of economic growth.

Apple will most certainly will take iphone to never never land, if Apple flops as a company as second time. Android on the other hand, would probably be going strong even if Google and Samsung went away.

iPhones are really for U.S. citizens and rich people from other countries. I don't see why anyone without a million and some in the bank would bother buying an iPhone (save for Americans that is).

The provide more than a phone in the States. I cannot go to Samsung store and get the experience someone may get at Apple Store. But all people see is a phone, they don't see the rest that goes with it. Apple stores have saved customers so many times vs say LG or Samsung, that I could fill this entire forum with examples.

Yeah, but the people in the store are really just your every day Joe working for a paycheck. I went into one a while back with a friend that wanted to upgrade her iPhone, and I ended up in an argument with someone from the sales team because they were giving incorrect information to customers about the hardware. It was an honest mistake, but they were not familiar with their product, they were there for the paycheck. I'm not saying this is the case for every Apple store, just saying that they're not the perfect model of customer support.

Wow! No phone is worth $1000 I dont care what brand ir is. Better offer getting a highend cellular enabled laptop or Surface Pro 3. $600 for a phone is borderline to much. I paid $700+, but $800 is my limit. For something that costs $200-$250 to make, anything more than 100% markup is too much I think now.
