Have you held a l900 or a l800 or even the n9 in your hand? Now compare that to a sgs3.nokias plastic is a single polycarbonate shell, sammys plastic is a thousand parts loosely screwd together. As for o.s. I love how people defend android and i can appreciate that. But the lack of uniformity, of consistency of fluidity just puts me of. I own a ics tab so i know.

Who said Nokia have a good quality phone. Old Nokia phone is okay but not their smartphone. A lot of crash because of hardware. I use one but never again.

I pressume you are talking about symbian, i would not lean a bike on those. Lumias on the other hand kick a$$ in every aspect, even my low range l710.

symbian fp1 and fp2 are stable and ive had no crashes or freezing so far, android wen it first started was buggy know its more poilshed and less prone to freezing etc same can be said for symbian even if its classed as dead.

As long as it's a polished product, I"m willing to wait a few extra weeks for it. I'm paying full price for the 920 since I got a contract for my 900, so doesn't matter much to me when it comes out as long as it's a solid reliable release

With you. All the talk about worrying about losing momentum or holiday sales is silly. There has been interest and decent publicity for WP 8. Tablets and Windows 8 on the PC will help, especially if they are well received. They CANNOT afford a buggy launch. That will be death. Iron out the problems, ensure a solid launch, and release it when it is ready.

That's what RIM has been saying about BB10, but their marketshare is crashing into the ground and it will be a no show this year, with delay after delay. The market isn't gonna wait for you, and the holiday shopping season is the biggest by far. It sounds more like incompetence than anything else. They have had two years to get WP8 up and running already. They aren't reinventing the wheel. It looks like WP7 except with smaller tiles and better hardware support.

First, Microsoft has tremendous capacity to speed up if they encounter delays. RIM doesn't have the same resources or agility.

Second, reinventing the wheel is EXACTLY what they are doing. WP8 may look a lot like WP7 on the surface, but the entire kernel upon which the OS is based is different. They're creating WP8 to run on the same underpinnings as Windows 8, and that's also what affords WP8 the better hardware support of which you speak.

Looks like Microsoft realized it has nothing on JB so now in the last minute they try to at least squeeze in as much features they can to reduce damage.

lol, you have got to be kidding me.... you droid boys need to realize its not about the amount of features, but about the user experience, and here wp reigns supreme. you can keep your features for which you dont know where the button in most cases is anyway....

You mean that OS that requires you to randomly hold the screen for a menu to pop up? And has cut off letters that obfuscate things? Intuitive my behind.

...or cut off letters to indicate there is more if you swipe to get over there? Could be considered a little bit of form over function, but I'd say it's fairly intuitive.

Also, user experience isn't purely about the interface. It is about the way the product functions in relation to the way you expect it to function. In that regard, WP7/8 offers a lot in the way of integrations to make sure the features you would expect to find in a certain setting are in fact there. For example, getting social updates in the contact list makes sense, and getting Local, Audio, Visual, and Web search capabilities all from the dedicated Search button makes sense.

Oh s**t, better not buy any new WP8, else you have to wait for updates to fix bugs. Next year, buy your windows phone.

It's a damn shame.
I see the MS apologists are out in force today though :) lots of bad PR around Nokia and WP recently, without any real success in sight.

Seems its going to continue being a 2 horse race until Tizen and BB10 arrive with a true challenge to Android and iOS. iPhone5, iPhone4S, GS3, GNote, GNote2 and the GS2 are going to bury WP end of this year at the rate of hype and sales (for those that are available) they are getting.

nokia will be the beast of WP...

so samsung should make a very qiuck move if ever elop is fired and nokia will adopt android (but still doubting this will happen coz by that time, maybe WP is on top) they should now make phones with its digital cameras... since sammy has digital camera...

and i hope sony will join the WP party!!! just imagine, PlayStation and xBox at one device!

maybe or just finishing it up... maybe it is still buggy... and microsoft want WP users to be bug free unlike others... you need to root it to work properly! (not mentioning someone or something!)

They should've spent all that BS ad money to hire more engineers to hurry the hell up. This is 2012, not 1995. You actually have competitors and they aren't as butt-slow as you. All those years of complacency relying on the same windows platform with a little more eyecandy. They are dominating in the desktop market because of legacy support, but the mobile world is nimble and people trash their phones after two years, so they need to shakeup their old philosophies and bureaucracies.

Poor Nokia ... their flagship would be outdated even before it is launched ... Elop strategy working nice. Nokia needs to be completely bankrupt for M$ to buy for peanuts.

i agree with "Elop strategy working nice" but before and after that no!!! nokia windows phone will be soaring high! a lot of people are really looking forward for the lumia 920 even it dont have microSD slot that should be included to a phone but for 32GB, why not.... even HTC's upcoming flagship WP wont have MicroSD slot, but samsung's Ativ S has one..but it wont be a big catch!

nokia will be relevant again!!

and also they are rumored to be making asha in new level... its UI will be base on modern UI wich is really nice! but still no word if its gonna be S40 or it will be meltemi or smarterphone OS..but super excited for what will nokia bring!!

just remove (dot)

but im kinda pissed that nokia didnt announce low end WP last nokia world! HTC's gonna beat them if they will release low end these sept 19th!

but still its good that nokia will have a big update on its current lumia line!! it didnt abandon it! it will now support BT sharing and exclusive Lumia goodness! but still hoping mass storage!!

so please stop hating!
