Razer Phone is here with 5.7" 120Hz Ultramotion display, 8 GB of RAM, and it's insane!

Razer, a leading gaming tech company, is ready to enter the busy smartphone marketplace with a product of its own. Its debut handset is called Razer Phone, and it is not your average smartphone. In typical Razer fashion, it promises a true spectacle.

Well Techie for someone that claims to know everything about tech you sure made yourself look dumb. Samsung never has and has no plans to make an Oled Tv. They are fully invested in Qled and for one reason, it's far cheaper to manufacture yet they still charge similar prices (or higher) than their equivalent Oled counterparts while not being as good quality. LG is the only manufacturer of Tv Oled panels, Sony, Panasonic and Phillips may have Oled Tv's but they are all LG panels.

First of QLED is not a OLED display. Second the listed spec is not 240hz, it is Motion Rate 240. Which for Samsung is half the value 120Hz panel. QLED is a LCD led panel with a quantum dot film on top of it. It is a great piece of kit, but not OLED, totally different tech. (most manufacturers list a boost value for refresh rate which is not the actual refresh rate of the panel)

You dont even understand thr need for faster refresh. APPLE sure doesnt because they put 120hz on a 10" display. At high cost. The point of higher refresh is large screens have so many pixels, because of the size the refreshed is increased because it has a larger area to refresh. Without it, 2k and 4k tv on many movies with high speed action or games would blur from not being able to keep up because the screen cant refresh fast enough. On 10" or smaller, it provides no real benefit, because refreshing wont take as long even if the display has the ssme amount of pixels. Doing it now means it will raise the price of the display. If Apple had waited for Android oems to use it, the part would be cheaper. I like gimmicky features, but i can wait until the price comes down. But if Samsung can make a 240hz 65" display, surely they can shrink it to 6.2". Dont you think? Or is that too much for your brain?!

"On 10" or smaller, it provides no real benefit" Just like more than 300 ppi for a 5-7" display provides no real benefit.

I do wonder on what level did they make changes to Android since Android caps games at 60 fps. Not really a point having a 120hz screen if the game runs at 60

Mozt mobile gamea dont run at 60. They run at 29.9(30) like most videos. Most games probably dont even reach more than 20fps. When i play Asphalt 8, ive gotten 50ish with using game app on Samsung phone. But it makes the game to fast and i dont like it. Every game doesnt need to be 60fps. Its pointless and a battery drain.

I do like the comment about zero input lag. When the GPU puts out 30 fps and the screen does 30 hz, there is zero input lag as well. 120 hz isn't a guarantee there is zero input lag.

It's a nice phone but it has no reason to exist, There's nothing on the PlayStore worth buying this for and £700 yeah ok maybe when it drops below £500

You can just use it as a great phone. Smooth 120Hz scrolling, lots or RAM, insane battery...everything your favorite phone lacks :)

No mention of RGB LED Lighting? Hopefully the Special Edition has. Most importantly does the Logo on the Special Edition glow????

There's a hint that there will be no headphone jack. Instead a usb-C adapter. Oh, well...

Looks like an excellent phone. But without 18:9 OLED screen and a reputable brand name, the most I'd pay for this phone is $550.

I am curious to know if the edges of the case stick up a little bit around the phone to protect the screen like with the Note 3 which I never broke. This phone may not need protection at all. I love the specs, I love the phone. Like for their stylish laptops it is something that someone can take to work although myself I bought instead an MSI GS63VR Stealth Pro with a GTX 1070 MaxQ all metal body 4lbs very thin with superior specs. This is a trend. People buying highly specked and stylish products out of the mainstream that hide their power.

Nice , but where's the HDMI input at? Jk . Only if it had an OLED display. I'll wait for the 1+5T

The 4000 mah battery was a mistake, it should have been 5000+.

I'm definitely gonna buy one. I don't really see why anyone's complaining it has the same if not better specs than a lot of the competitors at more than $100-$300 cheaper. I feel like if you're gonna complain be fair and take those same complaints across the board to the other competitors.

I like the design of the Razer phone, but i still like the look of Sony phones. Lets hope the build quality of the Razer is better than their pc peripherals, pc forums are full of tales of keyboards and mice by them breaking well before their time. Myself i won't buy Razer gaming gear anymore after having a bad experience with them a few years ago.

Can't wait to read the reviews for this device. Looks great! Hopefully Razer will offer a similar device is a smaller package.
