Razer Phone is here with 5.7" 120Hz Ultramotion display, 8 GB of RAM, and it's insane!

Razer, a leading gaming tech company, is ready to enter the busy smartphone marketplace with a product of its own. Its debut handset is called Razer Phone, and it is not your average smartphone. In typical Razer fashion, it promises a true spectacle.

If this is Batman, what would you call the 4gb ram on microsoft’s surface pro series tablets?

It's still better than Piyath with 512mb of ram.

Clearly the author of this article doesn't know that most OLED displays can easily go past 60 fps. As a matter of fact I know Samsungs AMOLED displays can go past 120 fps. I hope it will get Daydream support as well.

I'm unsure what part you're referring to, but FPS and hertz aren't the same. If an OLED screen is getting 120 fps on a 60 hertz panel, it isn't any better than it getting 70 fps on that 60 hertz panel. Hopefully there's 120 hz OLED in the future. That'd be sweet.

Just ignore tech facts from that dude, because he doesn't know s**t past "Android is good, Apple is bad".

Pretty impressed actually. Excellent screen, vivid colors, can't even tell apart from an OLED panel. LOUD speakers. BIG battery. 8GB ram is a welcome addition. Runs on Nova launcher in default thus must be very very smooth. All this for $699! WOW!!! That's pretty impressive. Take notes Google.

Haha. Take notes Google? Wrong oem though. Its a gaming device, it should have good specs. 8GB of ram for 699. IPhone X 3GB of ram $999 Note 8 6GB $930 $700 foe a phone wirh a few better specs. Its sure faster than the Note or S8, but its gonna be way faster than the iPhone X, with almost 3 times the ram. But you're saying Google should take Notes? How about Apple, and Samsung take Notes. But if this phone had a 6.2" 18.5:9 display, and many if Note features, it would be a $900 phone, but not a $1000. Look the IPhone X is even more with far less.

Faster than the iphone x? LOL! Have you ever consider the fact that it uses android. And unlike android. Majority of ios apps are all 64 bit and metal optimized? Even that 3GB of ram still manage to run the iphone with 256GB of internal storage. So where's your basis that the razer phone is much faster just because it has 8GB of ram?

Yeah faster than the iPhone. I dont care about benchmark, i care about overall usage. It has been proven, a device or any computer, even with a slower CPU and more ram have and can outperformed a device or computer with a faster cpu and less ram. Its not slways about speed. When cars are spoken about performance, speed is only one metric of performance. When it comes to phones, what matters is not outright speed, but how much can be done in a certain time frame. Steve Jobs already talked about the megahertz myth. Go see it on youtube. Throwing more processor speed does not always mean better performance. It is assumed thst throwing a faster clocked CPU at a task should make it accomplish faster. It doesnt always do so. The reason the Note or the S and this Razer are faster is because those pbones can do alot more than any iPhone in similar amounts of time and use less battery. This has been proven. IPhone loses 50% of its battery web browsing for 2 straight hours...PROVEN FACT. Galaxy device only used 40% of its battery in similar tasks. S8 can loop a 1440p video for 16 hours, while the iPhone looping 1080 last less. Its not about speed bruh and until you tech wannabes actually learn about tech dont waste your time debating someone who does. You guys suck!

On YThttps://youtu.be/yjfVv2RPaGE Tbis video shows rhe Note 8 holding 25 apps before it restarted one. Why? More ram. The iPhone held far less do to less ram. So thst means the Note 8 will perform better because it can multitask better. When Apple had the advantage that all you boys talked about. Just like when Apple had the better displays and higher PPI you all talk about it constantly. As soon as you are no longer on top, you dont say nothing. You try to hold on to any and all nunbers where it is assume the iPhone has some advantage and you ride it until you die. The iPhone 8 at $800 is not on any level or even equal level of the S8 for the same price. The iPhone X is not a $1000 phone no more than you all claim the Note 8 isnt worth $930. Yet samsung offers dual canera first time with dual OIS, and apple has dual cameras for 2 years and it still doesnt. No home button or headphone jack, yet a low IP rating vs the S8 with a jack and other holes. Better bigger display, fast charging with both wired and wireless, gigabit modem, premium headphones and more...but you are worried about speed. Performance is about getting the best overall benefit, without depleting a limited power source. The iPhone has consistently failed here year after year and that is fact.

Latest Xperia phones with flagship soc are faster than your current Iphones right now. Do you call that more optimized?

Are you that stupid to compare iPhone to Android??? lol. I can understand how small the size of of your brain is. iPhone is all about optimization and that is why it performs way better than any android phone in the world. It even out performs some windows laptops. Pixel 2 xl is old news. Failed news. A failed product. Not even worth wasting my time talking about it. Trust me, Google should take notes form this awesome Razer phone and make at least a good enough phone next year.

U compare iPhone to Android phones everyday. So that much mean you are stupid. Right?

92. RebelwithoutaClue unregistered

It's a fable that iPhone is that more optimized compared to Android. Why it runs faster in many situations, is that the SoC is a lot more faster and the storage is faster on iPhones too. And it outperforms some Windows & Mac laptops in CPU benchmarks, not in real time performance perse. Of course, it will do things faster than a 200 dollar laptop, but that's about it

I wonder if the 120hz display would work like the one Apple uses on iPads. Which has variable refresh rate. If not, the battery life and content experience is gonna suffer greatly.

5. mikehunta727 unregistered

It does work like the Pro. Both have variable refresh rate support.. so it's basically like having Gsync/Freesync on both devices, which is absolutely great 120 hz is really exciting and incredibly smooth, a big difference vs 60 hz

All i can say id a 120hz display is pointless when most content is 30fps or less. Its like putting premium gas in a car that only needs 87 octane. Sure it will work and yes it will do some things better, but the cost doesnt provide a good enough benefjt to pay extra. So why pay extra?

Have you stop to think that users won't run "most content" but they'll be running "optimized content"?

Its a SHARP display, its not always in 120hz mode.

Yes, it has variable refresh rate for superior battery life and fluidity.

"As for the 'Ultramotion' part, that's Razer's proprietary take on the 120 Hz display, which adds variable refresh rate for both consistent image quality and zero input lag."
