After we’ve seen lots of unofficial and spy photos of the BlackBerry 8800, Research In Motion (RIM) has now officially announced it. The successor of the 8700 combines its functionality with a few features of the popular Pearl. The phone has glossy black mirror-like finish, trackball for navigation and microSD slot for memory expansion.

The 8800 will ship with players for audio and video but will not have camera built-in. A nice improvement for the quad-band GSM/EDGE phone is the built-in GPS navigation. The BlackBerry 8800 also comes with a complement of accessories --
Headset, travel charger, holster, and USB cable are included in the sales box.
