Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC scores 181,434 on AnTuTu, tops Apple's A10 chipset

Earlier today, we told you that Qualcomm had introduced the Snapdragon 835 chipset which is being produced by Samsung using the 10nm process. The new chip will provide 27% better performance with 40% less energy consumption. We also passed along the results of the GFXBench benchmark test, which measured the graphics crunching capabilities of the Adreno 540 GPU...

In the 3D tests of Antutu, the SD835 scored 29499 and 45330, the iPhone 7 17204 and 31360 respectively. That's a whopping 71% and 45% faster respectively. Not too long ago you said "iPhone 7 kills every phone in performance. Holy sh!t!!!" Get ready to revise that.

The more important here is the Samsung's 10nm process. That means better battery and less heating(translate to better performance) .

Right. 10nm process is a mind-boggling great achievement and a big leap forward in the mobile SoC industry.

It is running on a Quad HD screen. HD screen like iPhone 7 will count more than 200K with this chip...:D

I more curious of the Adreno 535. Will there finally be graphic ability akin to that Apple... I know many won't admit it but Apple phones handle games flawlessly...Part of this is software but there is a hardware component that comes in to play as well. On another note.... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP MICROSOFT .... Best of both worlds OS with no apps, no developer support, and no support from freaking Microsoft.

LMAO One of the reasons I use ad-blockers. Some sites just become unusable.

This site is probably on the top of the list of worst offenders when it comes to ad placement.

Use adguard premium. It can be used in unrooted phones

Yes I am using it as well. iPhoneArena ads are the worst I have seen in a decade. The ads made iPhoneArena site useless.

Funny thing is that PA recommended Adguard months ago.

I must admit I whitelisted phonearena now. I used to get loads of crappy adds but now it looks much better. Beware that annoying adds are more a country related issue that a site related issue.

The new PROCESS NODE will provide 27% better performance with 40% less energy consumption. Qualcomm said nothing about architecture nor final performance. Antutu may be trash, but this early SD835 sample's score plus 10nm with Samsung's version of Integrated Fan-Out (forgot the name) suggests a compact, ice cold and aggressively efficient SoC.

I don't quite believe these benchmark tests. They are not performed under identical hardware/software configurations. You need something like a Windows test bench. A motherboard with hardware that does not change.

Now put in Le Pro 4 or OnePlus 4 (or 5 since 4 is badluck) or Xiaomi mi6, you will see 200K =D But then again, this crappy benchmark same with Geekbench and the rest are only valid in comparison within the same platform.

iPhone 7 A10 results: RAM: 12 744 (still c. 20% faster than SD835) CPU single core: 20 300 (almost double as fast as SD835) I/O: 14 857 (double the speed of SD835 reference platform) 3D: 17 204 / 31 360 (slower than SD835 benchmarks, although we don't know the resolution) TL;DR = still not faster than A10 and A11 will ship next year, and will be faster. Sad as I'm an Android user and have been waiting for a real competing SoC in the Android camp now for.... what, 7 years?

3D performance 45 to 71% faster and multi core performance unknown. Not sure why you've been waiting so long, the Exynos 7420 for example was already faster in practice than anything Apple had at the time.

Just ran Antutu on my iPhone 7 Plus and it received 190226. Perhaps phonearena.com should run Antutu on the iPhone 7 again to confirm their previous score? At any rate, I'm sure it will be hard to tell the difference on either phone in real world use.

Yep I hit 182k, 187k, 189k, 191k, and the highest has been 193k for me... I ran this within the first two or three days I had the 7 Plus.

Stop the stupid pop ups on your site. It is literally the only site I get pop ups on and the pop ups aren't linked to anything I've ever viewed. Often they are pornographic and I genuinely don't look at that stuff on my phone
