Poll results: Would you replace your Android homescreen with Facebook Home?

0. phoneArena posted on 11 Apr 2013, 07:35

Well, well, well, what do you know! The real Facebook phone may not be all that real, but it looks like Facebook's plan is to make every Android phone a Facebook phone. Pretty smart move right there by Zuck, we have to admit, but there seems to be one small obstacle in Facebook's way towards ubiquity, and that is the fact that they actually have to persuade people to install the Facebook Home launcher on their phones, and this might prove a bit more difficult than they previously imagined...

The android FB app is absolute crap. I can never get all the images to download, so I choose to go thru the browser as its more reliable...

If this is any reflection on how well FB code apps, then screw that making FB home my home launcher..!!

Installed the APK to take a spin in the new FB home...after installation my experience " Wohhhh !!! Mannn !!! where is my apps !! went in to settings>apps>Uninstall FB Home " ......

FB Home is a Flop as expected ....a social Network should not try to get into the Mobile OS.it should just stay as a separate app.

Fb Home more than likely will be a flop, but you can't call something a flop that technically hasn't even officially been released yet.

I already visit facebook every day and I have the app on my phone too.
So why would I need to look at it every moment..?

Both fb and Google sell people's personal info. Just more of the clan warfare.

This is a FAD!!! stick with the app--if you use the service but, If you are part of the 95% of user's using your phone for facebook and text only still thinking you need a quad core processor with 2 gigs of RAM, then this post is for you.

I'm not exactly sure why this would be needed. Don't most Android smartphones have Widgets for customizing the screens if desired?

I'm definitely in the "No" camp, but I think people are reading the results of this poll wrong.
As bad as this looks, this is still a win for Facebook. 13% of Android users dedicating their phones lock, stock and barrel to Facebook is better than 0%, which is what they have now.

I feel like if I was still on Gingerbread I might want to try the launcher. I had a GO launcher on my phone in those days anyways. But facebook vs. jelly bean would be absolutely silly

it's not a bad result at all! 13% (which could become much higher when the product gains notoriety) it's a lot of phones, much more than the whole windows phone market share, for example. And since it's just an app, this means millions of phones without even having to design, manufacture and sell any hardware.

I'm sure eventually he will get his way. Hell, he called his user (followers) dumb F*** and people still using the media, and providing free data.

Yeh.. Right.. Facebook has not been able to create a stable & fluid facebook app for android and they are creating facebook home. Facebook needs to learn from Google. they established faith in people 1st, then launched Android. Facebook seems to be in a hurry. They must first concentrate on providing an excellent facebook app.
