PhoneArena Awards 2014: Best phablets

"Phablet" is a word that didn't even exist until several years ago. Today, these devices bridge the gap between smartphones and tablets by delivering the best of both worlds. They're small enough to be carried in a regular pocket, yet sufficiently large for us to enjoy the web, our apps and games, and our media to their fullest...

If you have to put words in my mouth to make your point, it means you don't have a point. You stated that the article wasn't about the iPhone. I pointed out that he was responding to a comment about the iPhone. The OP brought the iPhone into the mix, made it a party of the discussion.

In fact, I believe that Nexus 6 should be 4th while iPhone 6 plus should be in the 2nd position, or 3rd behind the Mate 7.

yup.. its that good that it gets mentioned on articles not related to them. Hell, it's even featured on Samsung ads. That's how awesome the Apple is.

All it shows is that some people got butthurt it didn't even place, had to come here and claim it was better, and people responded.

Damn!... Reading all the comments on this article it proves me again how blind the iPhone users are. How can a 5.5" iPhone be better than the Note 4 who has SD card support, QHD 5.7" Amoled screen(the most realistic colors), S pen, multi tasking at it's glory, tons of options to customize your device, 16mp (16:9 ratio) + OIS + 4K camera, removable battery, NFC and not only for payments :-) and the list goes on?! Wake up people ! To buy a 128gb iPhone 6 plus you have to pay a lot more dineros than buying a Note 4(32gb) plus a 128 SD card and for what?!

To enjoy, because that's what that person wanted. Detailing the Notes specs/features is actually moot, we're techies too, we know what it has and what it does. That's one of the reasons we are PA members. I had the Notes 2, 3, and 4 (had the 4 for only two days and took it back). Absolutely great phone, but phones are attached to eco systems, and if someone is deeply vested in ios, they should get the 6 plus vice versa for android. Use a 6 plus for couple weeks and see just how great the device is. If you've never used one STFU, cuz you're listening to other people. I've used android extensively, and iOS is the OS that suits me better. No dissing android, it's fabulous, but I prefer iOS as does millions of others. Too many fanboys never pick up an iPhone, but wanna diss it, not saying you haven't, but most haven't. That's "for what".

Both iPhone 6 plus and Note 4 and ... are smartphones. #1 objective is to make phone call. #2 objective and the rest are other features that allow the end-users to do other things. At the end of the day, smartphones are like computers, therefore, the buying decision should be: use the least possible money to buy the most features unless you have too much disposable income to pay for the perceived values.

I disagree bro, the buying decision should be, buy what makes you happy and best suits what you like and need to do. Of course money factors in.

Thanx ted. We can argue all day, but in the end that's what actually matters, and why 99.9% of us buy what we buy. Think about it, with a 14-30 day buyers remorse period, if one weren't happy he/she would simply do a return.

This article is about best phablet, not best ecosystem or what is best for you, read the title, best phablet of 2014. There is another article about best phone, ip6 won that one.

I used to be a apple fan but afew years ago, I am a Sam fan already. Even I am a fan of Samsung, I still like the ip6+. But seriously the ip6+ Is waaaaaaaaaay behind the Samsung note 4. Even the samsung galaxy s5mini is waaaaaaaaaay better than ip5s. The s5mini has better and more features.

Look, regarding note being better than ip6+, i agree, it is slightly better. But saying that s5 mini is better than ip5s its a lot of BS. They are not even in same universe. That mini is biggest pice of sht samsung ever made. It cost slightly less than s5 and offers nothing. Uff, how i hate that mini sht... :-)

Ok. S5 mini is BS but not the note 4. Anyway, I agree with you

Im using an iphone 6 but no doubt Note 4 is best phablet and even the best smartphone of 2014. I might trade my iphone 6 to Note 4 :) anyone? Haha

Putting "Haha", makes it seem like you're out for attention, and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Don't worry iFans. Your precious iDevice will win best phone award. Phone Arena may have not considered 5.5" a phablet anymore because all these devices come in at closer to 6" screens. Love my Nexus 6 BTW, but I have to say that the Nexus 6 is just a big phone. The Note 4 has actual features that take advantage of the large screen.

Don't even know why the iPhone 6 plus is dominating the comment thread despite not even being on phonearena's list of the year's best phablet. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 ftw

Because disgruntled iPhone fans came in and declared it should have won.

Currently at the forum shops ceases palace, upgrading the wife to a gold 64 gig 6 plus. Selling her 16 gig for 600$. Loving that resale value.
