Pantech Perception for Verizon is updated to Android 4.1.2

When the Pantech Perception launched back in April, it came running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box. That made it somewhat outdated from a software standpoint as back then, even mid-range devices were already being released straight with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Thankfully, Verizon promised to launch an update in the near future and we're glad to see that it has finally arrived...

The update installed with no issues, and the phone is running fine. There are a couple of subtle display changes, such as the battery charge monitor icon now features a vertical battery and not a horizontal battery. It seems that a few of my alert settings got reset to their default (vibrate instead of off). And I received update notifications for around 15-20 of the pre-installed apps. Since I only use one or two of those apps, that is all I allowed to update (I did allow the update of all of the apps I have downloaded myself though).

So...so far, so good! And I'm glad to see Verizon providing the update after only 2 months. I'd read articles and user comments about promised "upcoming Verizon updates" that took 10-12 months or more to arrive.
