Palm returning every penny of the $50 webOS app submission fee to developers
Palm is really trying to curry favor with app developers. As we reported, despite the recent 50% off sale at the Palm App Catalog, the developers are getting paid a full 100% of what they would normally earn on the sale of their apps. Now, Palm is getting rid of the $50 submission fee that every developer had to pay to submit an app for the catalog. Not only will the fee no longer be charged , but the company is returning the $50 that was already paid for each app. With the grand total of 2,684 apps in the catalog, that means that the manufacturer will be cutting checks totaling $134,200. Actually, the refunds will be processed through each developers PayPal account. Now the big question for the code writers-are you sufficiently motivated enough to start writing some more apps for Palm?

It kind of feels like Palm's app catalog is closing down. First a 50% sale and now they are refunding all the $50 fees that developers had to pay? Sounds more like a clearance sale from my point of view. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I've worked for 2 carriers that have sold Palm WebOS devices and I haven't wasted my time with them since they were released. In my opinion they are bad devices. They are buggy and have horrible battery life. I would say that Palm will slowly phase out in the near future.

your pretty much an idiot then. webOS is pretty much the best OS out there. sure as hell beats the shit out of the unstable, fragmented, buggy, overhyped OS called android. at least you dont have to worry about random loss of contacts, force close errors, loss of 3g signal, constant broken email sync, horrible media player, etc...
