announced the Treo 500v
for Vodafon Europe. The interesting fact is that the device is the first Treo without touch-sensitive display, as it runs on Windows Mobile 6 Standard – the OS used in the Q9h/m, BlackJack and some other similar phones. The Treo 500v looks very similar to the Centro, that Sprint will offer, but the CDMA variant runs on Palm OS and has touch-sensitive display. Although the look is similar, the two devices will have completely different features and specifications. The Treo 500v is a tri-band GSM with UMTS (3G) for Europe, has 2-megapixel camera, QVGA 65k color display, microSD slot for memory and Stereo Bluetooth.
The Palm Treo 500v will be available from Vodafone from the 1st of October. We hope a variant with US-friendly frequencies will also appear but currently one is not announced.
