How can it be the fastest Smartphone with a 1000 MHZ processor?? Apple needs to catch up all the other phones that has 1.2 GHZ processors from what i know GHZ is faster than MHZ

It isn't just clockspeed, it's architecture, cores, and component integration. As stated previously, these benchmarks are pointless. You may as well say a gen-1 Core2Duo clocked at 4GHz is faster than a 2nd-Gen Core i7 at 2GHz.

I played with the iPhone 5 today at the Apple Store. It was pleasant but hardly an Earth shattering experience. I love the lighter weight and apparent build quality, but other than that, the UI and look and feel isn't that much different than the 4S and I'd get bored with it pretty quick.

I can honestly say from testing it around vegas, and indoors that it is lights out fast. Both data and os speed is tip top excellent phone, among the best available

Another example of irresponsible reporting. The benchmarking test at PCMag was done against the dual core versions of the Samsung GS3 not the quad core. Sascha Segan, the author of PCMag article, said in the comments "Regarding the Exynos version of the Galaxy S III, we review US phones here at PCMag, and nobody has yet released a US phone with that processor." The statement that the iPhone 5 "is the fastest smartphone on earth." is insincere and dubious at best and reveals the author's bias towards the iPhone.

Anand Shimpi's results were against the international S3, and even the Optimus G. Same verdict.

The Oppo is vaporware. Their CEO is making lots of proclamations, but no hardware to back them up.

http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/1051174 1758 on ICS not JB

My att gs3. Iphone5 is still a good phone...but saying it is the fastest due to synthetic benchmarks is pretty stupid.

Personally, I am not a fan of the iPhone 5. For being a beginning of the next generation Apple phone, it doesn't have enough new features to make it stellar in my book. I would at least thought they would throw their hat into the larger than 8MP rear facing camera arena. The whole passport thing really has me questioning about security of traveling not only in North America but internationally. You know hackers would love to get all over your information and making it available from the lock screen is scary. I think Android has more realistic manufacturer services that really Apple needs to look into. Why not make another phone model for the power user business types?

Once windows comes back anwho will start dropping off. Never seen such a bunch of cry baby anwho fans. I have had 6 Android. Worked fine when weren't locked up. Which was most of the time. You have what you want leave the Apple people alone. Sick of all the trash talk. Get of your computers and go out and get a life.

I dont care about these benchmarks but this is great to know since I am selling my S3 for an iPhone5. The reason is that Samsung phones tends to depreciate value so fast because they are releasing phones every now and then. Same as with the rest of Android manufacturers. Bought my S3 for about $800 in my country, now, in less than half a year, it has depreciated to $550. Versus the iPhone 4s that launched at $800, after a year the price is still around $670. You can really see the diferrence in demand. Apple comes on top if it is resale value you are after. Not to mention my S3 lags, most of the time reloads the homepage when i've been away from it, playing games etc. for like 5 minutes. Effing touchwiz is a BS. That never happens with my iPhone4, it never lagged at all. Really did make a wrong move upgrading to a phone with blinding specs but software can't really deliver.

Good job done by Samsung .. i believe who made the processor chip.
Now samsung created the fastest processor.

Sony behind the camera.

Good that samsung and sony doing there good job for the amount paid and are not cheap like Apple.

14 years nokia ruled the world with no patent war.

Apple just came in 2007 but trying to grow by screwing up other companies.
It should stand and fight by doing innovations. What is apple 's current role ? richest company, richest employees, us economy and anything else useful ????

People can do more stuff in other phones (GS3, note , One X , Xperia , Razr ) than iphone.

Samsung didn't create anything. You don't call the guy who makes your sandwich a rancher or a farmer, they are just the guy who made it. The rancher, farmer, baker, etc. all created the ingredients. Samsung had ZERO design input on this.

in my opinion, as a fandroid, apple had done a great job in optimizing their os performance parallel with just a pair of core with 1ghz(although can be boost to 1.3 ghz, but still doesn`t come close to android 1.5ghz dual or quad core), and it can run smoothly... this has come to a proof that os optimization must come parallel to performance of processor to get a minimal amount work need to be given and maximum output as possible... i`m just hoping that with jelly bean, android will not be competing to produce more powerful processor with more core, instead of optimizing the os throughly so that the number core and the processor clock be become useful 100%...
