Can you handle watching what some might consider the top two smartphones in the world getting dropped to the ground in slow motion, with each impact and bounce hideously felt in the pit of your stomach? Check out the Samsung Galaxy S4 as it takes on the Apple iPhone 5 in a drop test; which flagship best handles a meeting with the ground...

Samsung makes everything cheap even parts. Samsung uses plastics for GS4 not b-c of its advantages over metal, they want to save money and make even more profits. Why GS4 is so much more expensive than One? B-c of extra SD slot?
I think people are foolish to pay more for GS4 than HTC One.

not all aluminium is the same they have different processes
for example HTC One S use not one but two advanced processes to create the metal shell of the One S. The micro arc oxidation uses 10,000V of electricity to turn the aluminum surface into ceramic, which is said to be five times stronger than aerospace aluminum or stainless steel. That creates the
black finish of the phone. The second option is a more traditional anodized aluminum.

Check this it the comparison between Iphone 5 material ''Aluminium'' and Samung S4 material ''polycarbonate'' :

so yes aluminium looks and feels more premium than polycarbonate on S4 and the problem is not on the display but on samsung bad construction because other plastic device will survive when they droped on the side first even without GG3 display

premium and durability is 2 different things.
S4 is premium device but its not looks and feels premium, and absolutly not durable anough

you one owners are halarious.

the tech behind samsung is superior to one.

amoled > tft.. nuff said most of the money goes to the screen and amoled owns tft and i think it owns lcd in terms of deep blacks.

oh if your not a fan of amoled
samsung pls or lg ips totally owns anything short of modern plasma

samsung can build quality outter shells like your precious one. however i dont consider aluminum quality material so i hope samsung uses another material

wow samsung fanboy is always off topic

hah Superior Iphone uses Ips (TFT)the colour is more natural than amoled, and more power efficient too.
don't believe me just check displaymate detail comparisson
between iphone 5 vs S4.
Even Compare to low resolution and low ppi Iphone screen Amoled not superior they are on par at best
eat that !!!

Aluminium that five times stronger than aerospace aluminum or about 3 times stronger than stainless steel And also scratch resistant too,
Its high quality and premium material.

Clueless fanboy like you will never accept the truth.
That samsung quality is sucks

You are indeed narrow minded, HTC also uses IPS on their phones, plus an actual zero gap display which on my One X is much closer to the surface than any other phone i have seen and that includes the iPhone 5. HTC and Apple are both considered the best when it comes to display calibration.

It actually hit on the screen which is why it cracked. Of course the iphone wont break if it hit on the back. Stupid test
they should do test where they drop it flat on the screen
THat would be a fair test

But it didnt land on the screen it landed on the side of the phone on the corner, just like the iPhone did 3 times, the s4 landed on its back the first 2 tests which means i could have possibly cracked way before it did.

Plastic may be durable but when it isnt used correctly like the s4 it isnt good enough there is too much flex leaving the glass exposed, this is what happend when you want tiny bezels

one thing i have notice is that, anything with Nokia become tougher and stronger.

Example: Gorilla Glass 2 on others smartphones break easily, but with NL920 it's tougher and stronger.

Hey a non biased test that actually drops them fair! Gorrila Glass is a scam, if the manufacturer cared they would use sapphire glass.

don't blame GG3 because corning never said GG is unbreakable
they just said its durable.
Just blame Samsung for bad quality product

better in what to show GG3 is not strong anough???
The drop test only from 4 ft high.

Androidauthority test is legit to know how durable S4 compare to Iphone 5 because this day android (open) and apple (closed) are arc enemy.
And if you complain about the way S4 fell just check Iphone 5 vs S3 drop test video even Iphone survive from 5 ft 9 drop test

You mean the video below.

You are too deep into Apple. Pull out of it.

i think you the one who too deep into Samsung but i can understand that maybe samsung paid you or you just closed minded fanboy

the video that i mean is from Androidauthority not appleauthority

and about those water damage test i think its so funny, with nanocoating every devices will survive from water damage, its invisible to the naked eye so for people who doesn't know about nanocoating they will be easy to believe

if Iphone really water resistant Apple will showing it off, just like sony with XPZ.
Not showing on youtube by someone paid by apple or just another die hard fanboys

yudi you sure sound familiar. however, it's easier to make out what your trying to say.

we can gather you read up on the headlines that litter tech sites as much as we do. we understand nano-coating is awesome. but nano coating helps the surfaces of devices, when ports are exposed no nano coating can prevent water from gathering in those areas.

sony is pretty much done and so they are resorting to having to listen to people who give a dang.

all those years sony resisted to listening to its buying audience....when we said no to minidisks, weird rams, weird apps, weird and stupid charging and closed devices.

sony please go away. focus on the ps4. pleaseeee

you are totally blind dude....
You friend ''samsung fanboy'' showing me a vidoe of Iphone vs S3.

In that video you will see water drop test Iphone survived while S3 died.

And I'm telling him (your beloved samsung fanboy), i'm not believing that Iphone have water resistant feature.

Because if Iphone is water proof the Apple it self will showing it to us.
Not someone on youtube.

Sooo Stupid gooo away or just closed your mouth..... Okay!!

i think its the problem with the overall build because gorilla glass 3 is proven to be very durable. take the lumia 920 for example its using gorilla glass 2 but its one of the toughest displays out there

not it's not because gorilla glass 2 is on s3 and others smartphone but it's break, but on NL920 never break.....because anything is with Nokia it become tougher.
